I like regular acrylic paint. Use spray adhesive to tack a shirt down onto a masonite or very heavy cardboard, and the shirt will stay taut to paint on. After painting with acrylics you can outline or highlight or embellish with the tulip paints. Scribbles aren't so bad either, and are cheaper, just push them into the fabric so they adhere good.

Tulip fabric paint is one of the best fabric paints I've used, but it is sometimes hard to control the flow when you are doing lines or something.

Tulip fabric paint is probably the best. Iam a art student and thats what i always used. Even thugh its expensive it gives great effects on fabric, furniture and even paper.
The glitter tubes are the best too.
