I miss my Dad so much. He passed away in January. Every time I think I'm over the pain hurdle something takes me by surprise. I was okay today, in a good mood...until I drove by something that reminded me of him and our past Father's Days together. I've been so depressed ever since.

sorry for your loss i still have my parents but today is sad for me because my neice and nephew lost their father 2 yrs ago and its sad to see them miss their father and expecially today. they didnt get to make cards at school like the other kids. healing takes time and time heals everything. but no worries your father was with you today right by your side maybe even as you drove past that thing that reminded you of him. so dont be sad anymore. he is in a better place and in time you will be there with him again to say"happy fathers day"!

Sorry to hear about your father. I have a new son and this was my first father's day. It was a great feeling for me.

Take comfort in the fact that life goes on and what comes around goes around. A father passes away, a new baby comes and makes a new father. And so it goes......

I am very sorry for your loss. I'm sure there were several people that were sad today. In varying degrees and for different reasons. Most holidays are that way for some. Just remember the good things about your dad and know that (I'm sure) he loved you very much. Take care and peace be with you.

It will get better, eventually. One day you'll look at those memories and smile, even. Until then, remember that it's okay to cry, and to lean on others when your own strength ain't enough. Remember two quotes, "A burden shared, is a burden lightened," and "Tears make less the well of one's sorrow."

Well just know that your father is looking down from Heaven. Just don't dwell on his death, just remember the good times you had. But I'm also sad that my children's dad couldn't be home due to the fact that he is in Iraq.

My son had a tough day. He called me up to tell me he loved me. (he was half drunk). My husband and his father died in 2000. My son was 19 at the time. So I think that's why he wanted me to know he loved me. He needed one of his parents to reach out to.

first of all i am so sorry for your lost, i will be praying for you. i'm sure you have alot of good memories with your dad, and even thou it hurts too much right now, is good to remember him and to cry about it, well we all know that life is like that, we come to this world to die later, and that sucks, but thank God for that time that he let you have your dad, specially if he was a good father, think about all those good times that you two had together.if you feel like crying, cry, it is ok to cry.
in my case today is a very sad day for me, cuz i never have my dad with me, he left us when we were kids, but before he left, he sexually abuse two of my sisters for few years, then my brother abuse me and my mom didn't believe me or maybe she did but didn't do anything about it, knowing that my dad was alive living in plano texas, but never called to see how we were doing, make me think that he hates me, (thinking as a child, back then) so i had a very miserable life as a child because of my father. so for me fathers day is a very sad day...............believe me i wish i had a very good father, someone that loves me and play with me when i was a little girl, someone who give me advices when i need them, and be there with me when i was growing up, someone that was there when i was sad and happy, for me is only a dream that never will come............i wish i can have good memories about my father, but i don't. ........if you do live a happy life with those memories, and be proud of your dad, for now its ok to cry, and i know later on, you're gonna be laughing with all those good times with your dad.
