I am in love with this guy and have been forever. We are perfect for each other in every other way except sexually. We make the absolutly best couple you could ever imagine except for that. Is sexual chemistry something you can learn or is this doomed forever?

We were just friends for years. We currently don't speak because it is to hard on both of us.

Sexual Chemistry can be learned no doubt it takes a lot of listening and understanding to make it work. It is the only compromise I can think of a couple should have to face. I say this not because a relationship suppose to be give and take because in every other aspect that would fall under acceptance not compromise. One thing that makes a sexual chemistry not present is when two friends who know each other so well for so long, feel a bit uneasy in a sexual position. Sometimes friendship can be so close that it feels better and closer then a sibling and therefore subconsciously you feel like it is taboo to be with them but you mind says that's silly. The down side is that when you try to be sexually involved with such a close friend and it doesn't work, sometimes this puts a strain on the friendship that once was so strong. However it works out for you I wish you the best.

You must have something both of you enjoy. Try experimenting a little. Let each person take turns showing the other what you like or dislike and get creative. Sex isn't the only thing that keeps a relationship, but it will compound other problems and I think thats when people are less interested in their partner and get more interested in others.

My first husband and I had that kind of relationship. The sexual chemistry was never there and now we are divorced and great friends who should have never been anything but friends. So yes I believe the chemistry is a must to get it going.

You can learn it, but if it's not there, then find someone else that already has it. You'll feel much better in the morning.
