You can put them in differently for different hairstyles. Once the rollers are hot you use the large ones for large "body" curls and you use the small ones for tight ringlet curls. Put the roller behind your hair to roll where you want the hair to go away from your face and in front of the hair when you want the curl to be toward your face.
You might find something online. Though I could not find patterns or techiniques, I did find this http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art14524.asp by searching Yahoo for hot curlers
Peace!

Well that depends on how you want your hair but most people will separate the head into five quadrants starting down the middle of the head from the back to the front in a line and roll that then go down one side then the other side then roll the back. You take about 2 inches of hair and put it around the roller some bobby pin the tips onto the roller then roll it up and bobby pin it into the hair. Some come with clips and there are those terrycloth ones that come with their own ties. Hot rollers only need to be in for a little while. If you don't like doing this you can get a permanent wave. A curling Iron can work as well or the curling Iron brush along with a permanent wave.

You sure made me feel old. lol
If you have ever been in a salon, it's what the elderly women usually go for.
How you do them depends on what outcome you want.

Just first find something to hold while you get the hang of them and you get your balance. Just put one foot in front of the other, don't walk though...GLIDE! Don't pick up your feet, just push one foot then the other one. MayMay
