There isn't a country that is more important than any other one, because a country is comprised of people. If I were to say that my country, America, is the most important, then essentially I'd be saying that the people who live in America are more important than those of any other country. Which, of course, is silly!

At the moment, IRAQ - because everyone in the world is watching what is happening there. The United States is trying to pull of a precident in instating a democracy into a 3rd world nation. If Iraq fails, its sends a rippling effect of disapproval and discontent to the supportive nations, US, France, Britain, Russia, etc. Iraq is one important country right now.

It must be the United States because every body wants to come and live here!!! We try to help all of the poorer countries but it must not be enough because they still come here in droves legally or illegally.

There is none, USA just has the highest GDP. All countries are sovereign, even Mexico.
