The Gospel of John chapter 3 (verse 16 in particular)
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, so that whoever believes in Him shall not die but have everlasting life."
That is the most important chapter (and verse) in the Bible, because if you believe only that and nothing more you will be saved.

My own preference is I Corinthians 13...Also known as the "love chapter" (parts are quoted belows)
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal... .Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boats, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs... and now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
For me, this sums up the Bible's message and is reflected in all other passages. "God so loved the world that.... ", "There is no greater love than this...that a man lay down his life...."
One person may have a deep personal faith that sustains them. Another may have hope which will see them through in any crisis, but no one can love without being in a relationship with another. Christianity, is not a faith for hermits, but it exists in a community that sustains one another.

actually the whole bible is important but, if you had to narrow it down, I would say the Chapter about Jesus' death because it is about Jesus dieing for the sins of the world

Most says it is John 3:16. I think so.
But again, God's word is God's word. It touches us differently. For me now, it is Ezk 33:18/19, it goes something like that:
If the wicked turn to do good, they will be saved! If the saint do wrong, they will be in trouble.

Joshua.
The book of Joshua is a series of attrocities. If you can read Joshua and still think of God as a loving, moral being, then you have some serious mental and moral problems of your own to contend with.
