I really like this guy but we havnt talked much(barely at all)...how can I start a conversation with him without freaking him out?

Just be yourself.. if he freaks out, he is a jerk.
dont be afraid to talk to guys, they wont get mad!
it is acutally STUPID if they get mad, and make you feel bad, maybe because he thinks you dont look the best, or your not "perfect" A guy would never say that to your face, start out slow, introduce yourself or just talk about stuff, find out what he's interested in.
Hey and if your wondering, im not gay, im just smart and i know this kinda stuff.

you could start asking him questions on what he's doing during the Summer and then once you two are done talking, you can ask him out. if he's single there should be an 80% chance that he will go out with you and a 10% chance he will say no. the other 10% is a don't know or just become good friends.

If you know any of his interests (or even any current events), you could start a conversation with, "Have you seen Xmen 3 (for instance) yet?" Or "Have you read the latest Dean Koontz book?" That sort of thing is a pretty safe conversation starter--stay away from very controversial films or books, unless you know how he'd feel about something.

I think the best way to start a convo with someone is HI,or say something cute and funny,just something that will break the ice,that way he wont feel uncomfortable and neither will you.Good luck!!!

Walk upto him, and say HI... Then start some pointless conversation... About sport, the weather, music, TV, whatever... Then take it from there... If you spark, ask him out...

I dunno, if you've heard him mention anything you have interest in, be it a hobby, sport, ect, just bring it up like "hey, did you say you like _________?" and maybe ask for his advice on something or tips.
He'll know there is an interest in common, that you have interest that he likes it to, and make him special by wanting HIS advice on it.

guys love it when you talk to them ABOUT them. so try asking him sorta deep questions and about his favorite sport. ect..
