I was thinking it was Pizza but found out I was wrong? Anyone know. Or was it something invented in America that the Chinese got credit for?

I have found the correct answer and people think it is Chinese when in fact it is American. I will give you a hint to help you Snope for the answer....

you might be thinking of spaghetti as far as the China thing. I am reading a book that says "macaroni" which is American (think Yankee Doodle) originated in Italy. The book is "Heat" and it is authored by someone who apprenticed under a famous chef and also in Italy and also with some chef with a french name who was whacked.

most of the american foods we know and love today actually originated from europe. The hamburger is named not because it is ham, (which it isnt) but because it was thought of and made the first time in hamburg, Germany. The hot dog I believe also came from germany, but I don't know about pie or egg custard.............
