I am going to be a high school senior next year in iowa, I am trying to think of how to pay for college, I just got a job at ups which I plan on working until college making about $10,000 during that time period. What else do I need to do to make sure I can pay for college either through scholarships or my own money-making ways. Are there any tricks to saving money like the money I will make at UPS and create a lot of interest in that short of time? All help is very much appreciated. I am really worried about my future.

1. get a financial advisor
2. if you are 18 or older you can get a scottrade account with a minimum of $500 account balance and buy and sell stocks. You can do far better than saving money in a bank. Even if you just hold for a while. You can also loose it all first read about the stock market before you consider investing and never buy on margin.
3.if you get a 5% return in 1 year that is $500 but that is off of the full 10,000 you need to get a money market
4.Talk to your parents about the financial worry
5. save your money dont spend it on cars. Car are the number 1 waste!!!
6.After you obtain a job then apply for a credit card with a limit of $500 and start with small purchases and build credit
7. get student loans that you dont need to pay back until after college THEY ARE OUT THERE!!
8. The federal goverment has grants which is money they give you that you dont need to pay back. Same with your state. Only thing is i beileve you need a job so keep your job until after you get the grants or switch jobs as long as your working.
9. if you are not on the insurance with you family then you can apply for financial aid by yourself which would mean you would get more support. You can still apply even if you are on your parents insurance but you may not get the same :\
10.apply to scholarships even if they dont apply to you TRUST ME! if no one applys or your grades are better or you need the money more financial you can still potentially get it.
11. apply to all amounts large or small think of it as free money.
12.look for organizations that help with assistance they are different than scholarships they give you money on eathier a loan basisi or a grant style. THEY EXIST.
13.use the internet for more scholarships THERE IS EVERY YEAR OVER 2 BILLION DOLLARS IN SCHOLARSHIPS THAT ARE NEVER AWARDED because no one applys

1. get the best grades, and if you can be the top of your class, by then any college would warmingly accept you and perhaps give you benefits of having a scholarship. And if you're really good, you could apply to be a scholar in acompany you would want to work on in the future.
2. invest in stocks. that's the easiest and less tiresome way. it wont involve enough work but it would come out nicely. just make sure that you know the know hows on investing.
3. loan in a bank. just keep a well balanced account and a good reputation and they'd willingly loan you money for college.

I would suggest that you do a couple things:
1. Work hard in school and get involved in extra activities (I know this may be hard with a job) This will improve your chances for scholarships
2. Visit FAFSA to see if you are eligible for grants/aid.
3. When you apply for college inquire about student work to pay for classes
4. As far as quick interest, it's probably not going to happen.

Perhaps you should look for scholarships on www.fastweb.com. It's a great site that finds scholarships based on your characteristics. Also, I believe UPS has tuition assistance for employees. Ask your supervisor.

hey one idea i have is to build a cheap house(one of those shed houses cost around 70 000 then rent it out to other people at college
too afford this you need to take out a loan with a bank with low interest then set your rent price above your weekly or monthly bank reayment once you are finished with the place sell it or continue to use it for this purpose
