It shouldn't be hard, but the reason most people don't do it is that it's not strictly enforced here in the United States. When was the last time you heard someone got a ticket for failing to signal before changing lanes? It's the reason, in my opinion, that most of our accidents on freeways occur while changing lanes. It's also why I don't have respect for speed limits – the Autobahn, which has no speed limit, suffers fewer accidents than our Interstate system. In Germany, the use of turn signals is strictly enforced.

Yeah it's pretty terrible, my mother's a nurse and my sister's a physical therapist and they are always telling me about the horrific injuries people incur when they use their signals. Broken wrists, severed limbs, dislocated elbows. It's horrid. I mean, have you tried to put on your turn signal? Really, you have to put like forth like .2 pounds of pressure on that things. It's just terrible. I am shaking with fear thinking about the next time I drive and how that turn signal may attack me.

Hey I signal when I drive, although the horn is broke so I use my middle finger ha ha ha! seriously though I agree that is aggravating as all hell. Especially when you ride a bike like me.

I read a study that stated that 80% of the time adult drivers said they didn't have time to signal lol

I agree it is SO annoying when people don't signal. And its not that hard they are just lazy!

Seems they can't be bothered by that. It is the same people that cut across three lanes of traffic to use the exit ramp. all while talking on their cell phone, sipping their coffee, and playing with their radio dial.

They are lazy. It annoys me, especially when they flip me the bird when I pull out from a 4 way stop to go straight, because I assume that's what they are doing. I guess I'm supposed to be a mind reader. Ugh.

get off the cell phone
not fiddle with the radio
not apply makeup
not eat and drink
while driving?

I think signals are a option that most people don't get, or atleast they don't think they got.
