Antiperspirants might, because they have aluminum in them, which can go into your bloodstream. BUT, it's not been proven.
So, I just go on the safe side and use all natural (and organic! :-) deoderant (not antiperspirant). And it works!

I have spoken to a prominent doctor in the Cleveland, Ohio area that has said that deodorants with antiperspirant contain aluminum which is absorbed through the skin and is trapped in the brain which leads to Alzheimer's disease. I have not heard anything negative concerning plain deodorants; however, I do not use either product and just sweat it out.

Mass market deodorants contain aluminum, which prevents the pores from eliminating toxins. These build up, leading to autointoxication - generally a contributing factor in all diseases.
Moreover, most deodorants contain a battery of biologically unprecedented chemicals like methyl or proply-parabens. These oestrogenic molecules have been shown to cause unregulated cell division, and in women, breast cancer. If your sweat smells that bad, its the food your eating, and the fact that your organs of elimination aren't working because of the foods you eat.

If anyone could prove that a certain deodorant can cause cancer, wouldn't we just not be using it

Nothing has been proven about the aluminum in deoderants causing cancer. If that were true, than any food you put on aluminum foil would also 'infect' you. And in regards to the above Alzheimers comment, they have no idea what causes it. And people have been geeting Alzheimers long before aluminum deoderants.

Not to any extent, but they was a concern that aluminum chloral hydrate could cause Alzheimer or dementia, but that hasn't been proven with any certainty

I've heard about this and like everyone said don't use the aluminum. You should ask your doctor. Your doctor should be able to help you if you have a GOOD doctor! :-)
