American - Grilled swiss cheese with a thin slice of juicy tomato on wheat bread and made on a stove with lots of butter, not in a toaster oven.

Ethnic - Vietnamese sandwich - It has sliced cucumbers, cilantro, carrots, jalepano peppers, vietnamese cold cuts(I think, not sure what kind they are), on a long crusty roll of bread - very delicious and different from the norm.

The ever-elusive Monte Cristo!
For those who've never heard of it;
It's a double-decker, 1st layer is ham & cheese (yellow) 2nd layer is Turkey & cheese (white). Dip the whole thing in egg (not just the top & bottom, but the WHOLE thing) & grill. Sprinkle with a dusting of powdered sugar & serve with strawberry jam on the side....mmmmmmmy!
It's perfect when you can't decide if you want breakfast or lunch!

Roast chicken salad sandwich! I would have hot roast chicken pieces with a little bit of the stuffing for flavor with cheese, lettuces, tomato, onion, teryarki sauce between multigrain bread.

I have two current favorites:

(1) Roasted vegetables (green & red peppers, mushrooms, eggplant, zucchini....) on toasted French bread with mozzarella cheese.

(2) Tomato & avocado with spring greens, red onion, sprouts, vegenaise on whole grain bread.

I may be leaving out an ingredient or two, but that's the gist.
