How can is get a link to my website http//www.islandchild.com on a website with a .edu?

If a link from an educational instution's website ending in .edu is to my website, http://www.islandchild.com, it is my understanding that it will help me in achieving a higher page ranking with google, yahoo, and msn. I have no idea if this is correct. If you can help me with this question, I would appreciate it.

Unless the link is contextually relevant to your website, having this link is of no more value than any other link to your website. Some .edu links are really no better than a reciprocal link.
