ask them what school they're going to, if they're doing anything else over the summer, what they're interested in, and stuff like that

Ah, an acting class. My favorite class of the day. If you're like me you're naturally outspoken and weird in a kind, comedic way. I'd recommend observing first, seeing what people around you like and dislike, then act upon that. If there is something you notice someone likes that you do too, act on it. For example, if they like...American Idol, politely ask them (at a convient time) who their favorite winner was, or who they thought maybe should have won. FInd things in common, and build up from there. In general; DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT come across to someone as being too forward. My first day of high school, a girl in one of my classes found my locker at the end of the day, and promptly commanded (note the key word) me to write down my number because we both had similar intrests (anime, videogames) Needless to say, I was just a little freaked out. I hardly knew this girl's name and she wanted to call me. Hope I was helpful, and good luck!

well, it's like this.. the start of every great conversation begins with a great foundation of intellect. ya see.. i like to watch the simpsons. great way to start a conversation is.. "remember when homer did (this or that) that one time?" great way to start a conversation.. but if that doesn't work for you, i feel (seriously) big smiles seem to work. don't worry about what to say so much, but make sure you communicate yourself as a friendly person. if you're starting an acting class, you could always ask "how long have you been acting" "is this your first class" and so forth.. but overall, be a very very friendly person. talk about stuff you personally would like talking about.. and above all, refrain from insisting the world is round.. i hear it didn't work out too well for columbus.

As the wife of an Army Officer, I could write a book on small talk! Try: 'Do you go to school near here?', 'I am really looking forward to this Class. Have you been coming here long?', 'Are you thinking about becoming an Actor?'. Always ask a question and listen attentively to the reply, people love to talk about themselves...and have fun!

You're always safe with the weather; "hot enough for you?"..
Since you're young, you could also talk about school; what school do you go to? Do you (we) know any peope in common? Is this your first acting class? Have you been in any plays, cmmercials, movies.. etc..? Speaking of movies; seen any good ones lately? Are yo reading any good books>? What do you think about ___ (politician)?
You could also just start with, "Hello, my name is:_______"..

You could always talk about movies that you have seen recently, and what ones you would like to see that are opening soon. You could also talk about music, what kind you like and what you aren't so fond of.

You could also try talking about school, and the weather.

Good luck and hope it helps!!

I find that if you ask them something about themselves, like where they live then why they like it there or something like that they will talk, most people like to talk about themselves and you only need to ask a leading question to set them off!

some times its best to just say hello because sometimes if you are too friendly people may get the wrong impressions and think you want something more than to just be friendly.
