While it was alive, it was the fastest car you can buy for under 25k. As a Dodge certified sales pro, I had the opportunity to race these cars on a closed course. It was amazing, and that was when they didn't have the limited slip diff. I highly reccommend buying one, as they are nothing like the normal neon.

The best bang for your buck. If you can find an ACR get that. It was a $1200 option that gave you 3 grand worth of suspension goodies. Only fault is that it is wrong wheel drive.
It (thankfully) has no Mercedes influence. If it did it would only be sold to the ingorant, for Mercedes survives right now only on the money made by it's subsidiaries. Poeple only buy Mercedes vehicles for the name. BMW's handle way better, and Mercedes has horrible quality numbers (way worse than Dodge).

Yes, most definitely. This car is by FAR the quickest vehicle sold in its' price range, and serves its' purpose very well. However, Dodge obviously focused only on speed on the vehicle, and therefore other things (such as basic liveability, noise, etc) have suffered a bit. If you're wanting an insanely fast car with a backseat that still gets impressive gas mileage, go for the SRT4.

Honestly, Dodge, well, they have changed, dramatically. The SRT4 though, that is a suped up little four banger. Scary I think, although I have never heard the bad things about this one like when the Neon first came onto the market.
Honestly though, I would buy something that has a better track record, in example, a subaru impreza rr or something like that. This will ensure that you get the performance you crave and dependability that is needed.
