I have had asthma for over 20 years I stopped taking the meds a few years after getting asthma. I drink lots of coffee. Coffee works so good to stop the wheezing. I told my doctor many years ago and he said it was fine and I didn't have to take the meds.

I have had asthma all my life.... I finally, after almost 40 years, have it under control.. I take ADVAIR as a preventative to control the astham... twice a day.... and ventolin as required. I also have a machine that I can use liquid 'ventolin' in that mixes with the air/oxygen ... I use it when I'm really bad... when I have a cold, bad allergies... or just bad asthma problems. I have also had to use prednisone but I'd stay away from that stuff.. it's not good for you if you take it for more than a few days.

You should also do a search online for asthma sites... Canadian Lung Association has a lot of info.... learning how to cope and learning what to do to cope makes a big difference as well. Swimming helps to strengthen the lungs too.

Good luck...

My brother is an asthmatic and after ten years his asthma has shown no sign of improving. He has been to several doctors but they didn't help much.

If you want a proven, all-natural way to cure your asthma, without having to pay for useless medications with harmful side-effects, then this is the most important page you'll ever read.

Meds only treat the symptons, not the cause. Two of the most over looked triggers are dehydration and chlorinated water. Drink lots of purified water. Many people also have been able to reduce the need for meds to control their attacks by building their body's natural Master Antioxidant - Glutathione. The simplest way to build this is to consume bio-available whey protein. This natural food had the precursers (or building blocks) so that your body can build Glutathione. With good leves of Glutathione, your body can detoxify and begin to heal itself.

To breathe better:

Be calm.
Inhale (not with inhaler, of course!) 3 times with nose, even if you can't. The 4th time, inhale with mouth and nose, deeply!

It works for me. But I don't think I have a severe asthma. I hope this will help...

Have you tried Advair? Asthma runs in my family and I have two relatives that take Advair. It's like a pump, but different! They say it really works. Try going to your doctor and asking him about it! Good Luck!

Somethings can't be helped when it comes to athma but if you keep up with exercize and junk like that it will strenghten your lungs and make your attack not as strong. But dont go to quickly ease in to it when you start.

Can you try jogging. I'm serious. Or you can star by walking around your yard, for example. until you sweat. Do it lightly -I means don't try so hard that you feel tired.but regularly, don't miss a session. I hope after thhree weeks you will feel better.
