My friend's mom & dad divorced when she was 1 or 2 yrs old.She is living with her mom right now but would like to meet her father. We have searched all over for him. When we confronted her mother about it she got mad and said she could not meet him until she was 18!!!(now 13) Her mother grounded her for wanting to find her dad.....She doesnt want to disobey her mother but is afraid that by the time she can search for him he will not be much fun because he will be old (no offense) She is also afraid that her grandparents who were SUPER nice and were in a nursing home :'-( will have passed away by the time she is 18.Any advice would be greatly appreciated.By the way his name is Timothy Neal Tanner if you know him PLEASE contact me immediately. Thanks

Is it possible to speak with her grandparents?
Do a search for that name, and see what comes up.

Try this, there's a bunch of them!

This could be a bad way to go and cause controversy but . why don`t u as her friend come outta pocket and find him for her it`s not that expensive. then if he cant be convinced to go and see her allow her to decide if she wants to see him. the mom while probably look out for her Daugher's best interest still most likely has her own personal feelings that are interfering with her judgment. Her own pain is causing pain in her daughter ,so if need be do it behind her back until the situation is ready to be discussed. parents forget sometimes that their children aren't all ways as young as they look mentally or emotionally.
