I think I'm apparently the only person who thinks 11 is too young for mowing lawns and babysitting...lol.

Aside from chores you give him around the house, he can definitely check into a paper route. Another idea is yard clean-up, carrying the trash to the curb on garbage day, dog-walking, gathering mail for neighbors who are on vacation. Think along the lines of things you wouldn't mind paying a neighborhood kid a few bucks to do...and help him make a list of those things. He can either ask neighbors you know if they would be interested or even put up flyers in the neighborhood.

This is a great question for your eleven year old to ask. It shows that he is hard working and wants to make his own money. Hooray for you. What he can do of course depends on him and where you live. If you live in a nice neighborhood or know your neighbors then he can always volunteer to mow their lawns. I would suggest for family members and friends to tell them they can pay you whatever they want. My little brother back when I was young could earn up to 100 dollars a day that way. If you live in an apartment then of course this wont work so he could take up a pet sitting or walking service or have a rummage sale. Since he is eleven it is difficult to find many job oppurtunities so these and other simple light jobs might have to do. Good luck

I have three boys, 12/9/ and 5. My oldest cuts the grass and I give him $15 a week. He enjoys working outside so when he is cutting the grass, he will go around the neighborhood and ask people if he can cut their grass. So far he has made $50. My middle son has a one day a week paper route. He throws papers four times out of the month. He makes $54 for the month. Check into it and see what he really likes. Good luck and God bless.

Have a garage sale or yard sale - of toys, games, clothes, anything you don't need, use, or want anymore. Ask you parents to donate things. Ask other family members (including aunts, uncles, etc.) and their friends to donate things.

Also:

Do odd jobs for people (clean, paint things, etc.).
Mow lawns.
Trim hedges.
Take trash cans out/in.
Help friends/family/neighbors clean garages, yards.
Run errands (if it's safe).
Sell things on e-Bay (with your parents' help!)????
A lemonade stand.
Walk, wash dogs.

A walking paper route. Lawn care for the neighborhood. Hold a yard sale of all of his outdated toys and clothes. Cleaning out garages for elderly people or someone who has no time to do the cleaning themselves. Any or all of the above.

The boy who lives across the street from me has a very lucrative lawn business...I'm one of his customers. It's a great idea and will help him learn to not only MANAGE money, but also to work hard for it. Good luck to you both.

There are a couple of kids in my neighborhood, about that age, they have a lemonade stand. I buy from them just because I think its cute and they are trying to earn money instead of just asking for it or do nothing at all to deserve it. They just set up a stand in front of their house and their parents just keep an eye on them. Its great for the summer and lots of people love lemonade.

That is normal.. all young girls and boys want to shop in those kind of stores. Try taking them to a store that sells clothes from abercrombie, and Aero, but for a cheaper price. This would cut down on the cost, and also let them get the clothes they want. Hope this helped.. =)

I would say babysitting, but maybe just helping a mom out with her kids, playing iwth them so she can get some things done around the house? Mowing lawns? Pet sitting?

i mowed yard until i was about 15 or so, and you can seriously undercut any competition by doing it for cheap and then ask for more money when you're done becaue it's a hundred degrees and i had to mow uphill both ways, and look i'm wasting away to nothing here......
