In a way, yes. The Bible calls angels--and Satan was an angel who opposed God--sons of God. (Job 1:6; Genesis 6:2, etc) The word "sons" indicate beings created by God--that's why God is called "Father". Jesus the "Son of God" therefore was created by God. These words help us to understand that God is Almighty, while his creations--including angels (good or bad) are inferior to him, though they are imbued with certain powers.
But, having said these it does not mean that they are equal in power and might. Just as children of a family have different capacities. Satan is much more inferior to Jesus.
Too, Jesus maintained his integrity to Jehovah. Satan on the other hand did not remain in the truth.
So, even if they WERE brothers, they had to separate ways.

Someone already asked this.
Satan is an angel. Jesus is considered God and Man by Christians and pretty much a man by other people. I don't know anyone who considers Jesus an angel except your friend there.
Satan did want to give a certain knowledge. But it was not his to give. He wanted Adam and Eve to eat the fruit from the tree of knowledge. The reason this is wrong is because God forbade it. God forbade it because it was not His plan to reveal this to humans at that time. He fully planned to, but on His own terms which would be the best for humans. Instead, Adam and Eve took it for themselves. This is what Satan wanted.
It is like your dad has a cookie and fully intends on giving it to you. However, you run up and steal the cookie before he even offers it. Your dad will surely have a talk with you that a gift is not to be taken, but received. The same is true for knowledge.
Satan did not want the humans to have knowledge for their benefit, but he did want them to do exactly what God told them not to do.
Satanists have been duped by Satan. They believe he brings power and knowledge. But all Satan truly wants is to destroy humans utterly and completely. His hate knows no end and that is why eternally he is never allowed back in heaven.
And it was actually long before humans were created that the war between Satan and his demons against God took place. He rebelled out of pride. Satan took himself too seriously and thought too much of himself.
Satan fell by the weight of his own gravity.
Please pardon me, but your friend is a fool is the greatest sense of the word. I don't believe he is evil, but he is foolish enough to trust that which only seeks to bring him down.
Already he is trying to convince himself and others of what Satan is in relation to Jesus. His comment is bogus beyond belief.
I'll be praying for him.

Your friend is clearly a Satanist. Satan the Devil, before he become so, lived as a perfect angel in heaven. His selfishness and desire to become greater than God led him to become a devil. He is the one who lied to Adam and Eve. Because of him we are not perfect, we get ill and die. I suggest you read the first book of Genesis. The bible holds the ultimate truth to questions like this one.
Also, you are asking the question in past tense, but then you say that your frinds claims that Satan and Jesus are brothers now. Under no circumstances is that true.

NO. Satan is not Jesus' brother. Mormons believe that, though. Jesus is fully God, and one with the Father (John 10:30). Dosn't mention Satan as being equal.

No, Jesus is an aspect of God, and only His body was created, whereas satan was entirely created.
He got booted as a result of pride, thinking He could do better than God.

particular, in accordance to Mormonism, all of God's infants are brothers and sisters. Mormonism teaches that Jesus and devil began off basically like us, basically 2 between an a lot of God's infants. for this reason, interior the start, they have been brothers. for sure they have taken a lot diverse paths in view that then, in accordance to Mormon theology. The disconnect with Christianity is that Christianity believes that Jesus IS God, no longer considered one of God's creations. it is the place the version stems from.
