As Telis said, the guys who wrote the bible got the naming rights for all the characters as well as a nice piece of the profits if the movie ever gets the green light. What few people know is that the indigenous earthlings were hermaphrodites and impregnated themselves. (This is the source of a saying that persists to the present when someone is moping around saying there's nothing to do, i.e."go f*** yourself") But eventually humans got bored with this arrangement and split into two groups, each with the respective required equipment: the slots and the tabs. The tabs wanted someone to take on dates and try to seduce and the slots wanted a reason to expand their wardrobes and invent makeup. For the first time sex wasn't a sure thing and they got to wonder how the night would end: tabs wondered if they'd get lucky and the slots wondered if they should let on that they wanted the tabs to get lucky. This was a critical paradigm shift: sex now would involve another person! Anyway, the original two people on earth were both named Billy, although some scholars believe the proper spelling is Billie. (From the ancient Jovian for "give him the check- no give him the check, I paid last time-did not- did too... etc.") Hope this clears things up!

For all those who answered God: do you really think God said : 'you will be known as Adam and you as Eve'?
I'm guessing both names are derived from other names in whatever language the Bible was originally written in. So the person who wrote that passage probably came up with the names.

God named Adam, but Adam named Eve,

Genesis 2:19 ( don't say but this is where Adam name show up first)

And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beat of the field, and every fowl of the air: and brought them unto ADAM to see what he would call them; and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, what was the name thereof.

The Bible seems to suggest the LORD God named Adam.

It is clear that Adam named Eve and all the animals.

"And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living."(Genesis:3;20)
