1 John 5:7
For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one...
1 John 5:8
And there are three that bear witness in earth the spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.
If you really want to know and study this you will see they are all One God...

God is not limited in the number of things He can accomplish at the same time. While God the Father was watching His only Son die on the cross He was also watching over every other person on earth. You have to realize, also, that God is a triune God. Meaning Father, Son and Holy Spirit, 3 in 1. I have no qualms about God being on top of the universe at the same time Christ was dying on the cross.

Christians believe God is One w/ Three Distinct Persons...
Father, Son and Holy Spirit....
Jesus Christ is the Son, he is both Man and God...
No Man has Ever Lived to tell us What God the Father looks like...
and God the Holy Spirit is a very realy bieng, that has no physical presence yet is very real, very alive, and present everyday in the lives of Christians...
So remember that even though God the Son did die on the Cross to save Man, only One part of God and that was God the Son died, the other Two very real "persons" of God did not die... try to think of it as only 1 part of God died,
but remember this...
That even though God the Son died he also Rose from the Dead, to bring us everlasting Life...
God the " Holy Trinity" Father, Son and Holy Spirit is the only God that Christians Worship...

God the Father ran the universe while Christ was dying on the cross. Christ is one part of a triune God. There is the Father, the SOn(Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit/Ghost (who dwells in Christians.

The doctrine of the Trinity states that God is a single Being who exists, simultaneously and eternally, as a perichoresis of three persons (personae, prosopa): Father (the Source, the Eternal Majesty); the Son (the eternal Logos or Word, incarnate as Jesus of Nazareth); and the Holy Spirit (the Paraclete or advocate)

It is as you say!!!!
The whole world fell into ruin when ADAM sinned. God cleansed the world with a flood and said it will never again be cursed for your sake. Jesus died for the sins of the world, but he was asked why are you leaving the wicked. He said wait until the end and he will gather them first, into bundles to be burnt. He said don't try and root the evil ones up because you may root up some of my children. Patience and Faith. He that endures until the end the same shall be saved... Judge yourself, lest you be judged and be found lacking. God Bless

We monotheists - Christians, Jews, Muslims, and others - need to stick together. I understand from this question and from other postings that you maintain a strict monotheism, and that the concept of trinitarianism violates your conception of God. As a Christian, however, I profess that I believe in "one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is seen and unseen" (Nicene Creed). Surely that is some common ground upon which both of us can stand!
To answer your question, though, God was running the universe - as he has since...well, since forever. You and I agree on that. Where I differ with you is on Jesus's role in all this. The author of the Letter to the Hebrews summarizes it well:
"In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven." (Hebrews 1:1-3)
I acknowledge that you have your own quotes and passages from the Holy Quran that refute mine, but now you know where I (and many others) are coming from. Just like you, we recognize that throughout history God has sent a number of prophets / messengers to preach to the faithful. The ultimate messenger, however, was God's own Son, the "exact representation of his being," the "radiance of God's glory," the "heir of all things."
The way I understand it, your faith considers it blasphemous to associate a son with God. To paraphrase President Bush, I think you are "misunderestimating" God, who can do whatever he wants and who is beyond human comprehension.

good question
the bible calls Jesus at Isaiah 9:6, “Mighty God.” He was not to be called almighty God, as though he were a coequal member of a trinity of gods.
Even on his resurrection day, he let it be known that he was still inferior to Jehovah. He made an appearance to Mary Magdalene and sent her to inform his anxious disciples that he was returning to their Father and his Father and to their God and his God. (John 20:17)
Jesus Christ has a God and that God is not Jesus himself but is the heavenly Father Jehovah.

God is all powerful and Jesus is a manifestation of God. It's hard to explain and we will never fully understand until we get to heaven. God can do more than we will ever get. Sorry I can't be of more help, maybe someone else will be more.

Jesus tries to teach us that God is a spirit and must be worshiped in spirit. That spirit is in all of us. Jesus was the first to teach this. With that in mind this Spirit does not run the universe. It (God) created it.
