I know of no children that are in such a situation - unless their parents have been arrested for a crime and being deported because of that.

In the Houston area we had on the news recently two children that are illegal that are now within the social services portion of the state government coming here because their parents abandoned them over 8 years ago and are working on the east coast. They were trying to find and get to these 'parents' Such parents are the kind that we want to have as citizens?

I believe the answer to be to quit making people citizens just because they are born here. Such may have been a good thought when the country was just beginning - but not in modern times with the population problems that we are having now across the country because of such - not to mention the strain that it places upon the middle class since they are the ones that foot the major portion of the tax burden.

This does not yank my sympathy chain at all - I disagree with the anchor baby law and want that ended asap. When the parents were deported, they had the right to take their children with them and so they should have done if they cared anything for their children, at all. If they have given up the care and custody of their children and under the present archaic law those children are considered US citizens and the parents decided it would be in their children's best interests to remain in the US, then place those children in foster homes or adoptive homes and they will be fine. Change the law now, though, and in future deport the children along with the parents. The parents were at fault for having their children in the USA in the first place, trying to use the generous US system to their own advantage. Ship 'em out!

Send the kids back to the parents. What type of parent would let themself be separated from their child? If asked by the individual being deported, the U.S. government would let the child go with the parents. Why don't the parents ask that?

The solution is simple. The parents can take their children with them, or they can sign over their parental rights and the children can stay in an orphanage here. The kids would be better off if they are not raised by criminals, which is what illegal aliens are!!

Send them back to their parents and then let their parents go through the proper channels to become citizens. Their parents were well aware of what could happen, but they decided to drop a baby in the country and take the chance of being given immediate citizenship because of the drop.

Truth-the parents should have taken their children home. It is their responsibility. What if all our poor dropped their children off in Canada for better health. I don't think many would even those who have very sick children (I have worked with many, they would worry to much. That is a moral issue. Some here dump their children-but on the whole--No.

Well, if the illegal parents would have some common sense left, they probably would not leave any under age children behind- unless they have legal relatives in the US who can take care of them until such time that they can legally fend for themselves. We can not absolutely reunify american children with their parents based on act of goodwill, but to allow immigration process takes its course: to petition the parents when that child reach legal age and financially able to support his parents.

Their ILLEGAL parents should NOT have broken our laws. Their kids, should NOT even be considered an American, just by being BORN here! If the PARENTS are illegal, then their kids should be ILLEGAL! They should NOT have SNEAKED into our country,in the FIRST PLACE!!!!!!
If the kid was born in a GARAGE,would that make him a CAR???!!! NO,so why should being born on our soil automatically make the kid a citizen? This CRAZY law needs to be done away with!! DEPORT THEM ALL!!! NO AMNESTY,NO SURRENDER!!!!!!!!!!

You send them back with them. They are underage, and breaking the family up is worse than keeping them in our foster system.

Babies born to foreign nationals should no longer be citizens, it is an abuse of the system. They knew what they were doing, got caught, and don't make us pay for their mistakes.

Stop pulling on our heart strings to give up our country, not gonna happen.

OMG Tina! You gave a well thought clear intellingent answer that made sense! Good for you!!

ISN'T IT SAD THAT WHEN AN ADULT BREAKS THE LAW, THE CHILDREN GET PUNISHED.

PERHAPS IF WE ELIMINATE THE LURE OF HAVING A BABY IN THE U.S. AS A WAY OF LEGALIZING THEM, ILLEGALS WILL BE LESS LIKELY TO COME OVER.

I'M NOT SURE THAT MANY ILLEGALS THOUGHT ABOUT THAT MUCH. I THINK THEY JUST CAME. NOW IT HAS BECOME THE 'TUG AT THE HEART' EMOTIONAL ISSUE AND EVERYONE IS GRABBING AT IT. IN UTAH A FAMILY HAS BEEN SEPARATED. ALL YOU SEE ON THE FRONT PAGE OF THE NEWSPAPER IS THE LEFT-BEHIND-WIFE CRYING. THE ACCOUNTABILITY THING IS TOUGH. NOW EVERYONE GETS TO PAY.

BY THE WAY, IN THE B SECTION OF THE NEWSPAPER THERE IS A SMALL BLURB ABOUT 600 DISABLE PEOPLE IN UTAH WHO WILL LOSE THEIR DISABILITY BECAUSE UTAH IS RUNNING OUT OF MONEY. WHERE ARE THE TEARS FOR THOSE PEOPLE?
