Nice point, I hope some people actually think about what you're trying to say, and not just answer your nearly rhetorical question.

I don't want your God, why would I. I have my own beliefs and yet I am constantly told I seek God, I seek God about as much as I seek Christian understanding....i have heard of both, but yet to see either. I argue against the existence of God on here because if I didn't, what sort of diversity in answers would there be.....none at all.
Christians seem far more concerned with discrediting Atheists than they are with living a good life.
I live a good life, help people in trouble, etc and all of this without having a fear of your Gods wraith or going to Hell. So who is the better person, a man who does because he sees it as being right or the man that does it because he fears the consequence of not obeying his God.

I can think of 3 reasons for which an atheist would get fond of posting in this section:
1. (s)he is subconsciously trying to find God - (It would feel comforting to know there is a God!)
2. is trying to create controversy, seeks for attention - asks and answers questions with the only purpose of getting into disputes.
3. thinks of himself/herself as some kind of a preacher (too bad some people are doing this in a rather aggressive way - I'm talking about the "believers" as well)

I do believe that atheists are searching for something. Whether or not they believe it their soul is tied to God and He is always trying to get their attention. I figure if they read our answers, even if they scoff, the seeds are being planted God will encourage their growth.

I feel called by God to answer certain questions in different sections, even in the Gays, Lesbians, etc. section. No, I'm not a closet lesbian. But I believe we can shine God's Light everywhere, even there. God loves all of His children, wants them to turn to him and confess their sins.

We are all seekers of something. Each day I seek a closer relationship with God, to come ever closer to doing His will for me.

i detect it eye-catching. i in my opinion do. My spouse, a Christian, who says that her relationship with Christ is fairly own won't study the gnostic texts because of the fact they are actually not interior the good canon. I tell her, yet babe, those are an identical writers that penned the bible. Why do no longer you go with for to take heed to greater concerning the guy which you like a lot? She says "do no longer you think of that god might have the potential to make particular what he needs in his e book is in there and that no longer something is?" i've got self assurance thats the logic you have a complicated time reasoning with? Yeah, me too.

some could but not all. some may be just curious on what others are into. trying to find the sense in all the assumptions people make about how the world works. others also try to get a rise making people mad at them because they hate religious people. their can be hundreds of reasons people would be on the religious category even though they are not religious...also might have picked the wrong spot to be in...could be.

Honestly? I post here cuz I find religion fascinating in the sociological, anthropological and psychological sense. :-) I might learn something that will improve my Path!

I post here to give the other side of the equation, and to learn. I am already spiritual, so I am not "missing much". Tho, good point.

true true. atheists are just trying to hide the fact that they belive in god. u know when every one was born the were born with a belif in god, they were going to be on the sraight path then satan gave them the wrong directions meaning that he took them away from their belife in god. first he would have to give them the wong belife then he would make them and god enmtys and then finally he would say stop beliving in anything. bettween a person who belives in a religon other then mine and a person who doesn't belive in the religon i belive in nor god the person who belives in something is better.

Hopefully so, but I truly believe that many, unfortunately, are just trying to stir up doubt and dissension. They are trying to justify certain actions by bashing what should be done.
