Why do the stores make the sick people go to the very back of the store to get their medicine, and the healthy people can buy their ciggarettes at the front?

Marketing strategy. Also, everyone has to go through the checkout lanes. Only a few people, relatively speaking, have to go get prescriptions. Therefore, it offers more privacy to see a Pharmacist in a lower traffic area.

Excellent question! My guess is because the tills are generally at the front for easy access to the doors after you leave so you aren't carrying a bag around (making yourself look suspicious to steal) on your way out. The cigarettes are more often placed behind the tills so customers can not access it. Therefore sick people are forced to walk the extra aisles for relief.

I don't think it's for that, but I do think it's to advert robberies and it's better for the store because people waiting for scripts would be blocking the front store check outs.as far as cig's It is people's choice what to buy and what to sell. I am a reformed smoker and I can't stand people who talk about smokers. 90% of the people who b---ch are former puffers. If people would all mind their own business this place we call our country would be a safer and better place to live in.

Maybe they figure it will be good excersice for them to get around a little more. I think the handicapped spaces should be the farthest away in the parking lot, too.

very good question. and i think that it should be different. i wondered that when i was on crutches for the first time and i had to hobble to the back of walgreens in the middle of the night to get my pain medicine. i was NOT happy.

Because they will be waiting awhile anyway, why shouldn't they have all the possible oportunity to spend their money on any number of items on the shelves. Best wishes
