How about some flowers, or go to red envelope, it is a nice gift. She is your mother but I don't know how much you have to spend because it can get quite pricy. They have pretty pearl braclets that have a mom charm =) very pretty!

You and your mother should take a trip together, like a cruise. It would be time well spent together. Mothers enjoy bonding moments and money well spent.

since she is turning 50 how about a cane, make sure you mail it to her though because if you give it her in person she might beat you with it.

Ask her where she would like to travel to, and buy her (and your dad) a vacation package to that place, or you can travel along with her if you have time.

get her a card and write something special in it or make a card like you did in 1st grade. i think something made has more sentimental value than something bought.
