If he travels a lot for his job, then you might consider getting him some travel ware such as luggage, suitcase for his laptop, pens, dress shoes, jacket/sweater, small pocket alarm clock, watch, ties, or a small mp3 player so he can listen to some music during his long flight, etc..

A card, hugs, kisses, you can make breakfast for him. And check what he likes. If he a business man, you can get him a nice pen or a nice tie. Also some fancy socks like Raph Lauren ones.
I hope this works for you.

Get him a watch that has different timezones on it. They are about $30 to $50 at Wal-mart.

How about a gift certificate to a book store...
Or get a old photo of you and him and make it black and white and get a cute frame...you could do that for under $10.00 and it looks nice. I did it for my dad and he loved it.

okay - others have said this, but i go one idea further-,get a picture frame at radio shack or walmart that has a button on it to record a short message- that way he has a fav pic of you/or you and him or of the family AND he also has your voice on it!! they are under$12. I got my mom one and she loved it. good luck!

why don't you spend some time with him and try to do something to make him happy (only you know). he probably has asked you to do things that you've refused. would it kill you to do it, if only for his birthday? if you show that you respect him and love him then this is better than any gift you can give him.
