When I get this way, which is really pretty rare now but used to be really common, I found a few things helped.
Camping really helped. Being in nature for a few days (and it takes at least a day for the "chatter" to slow down) is my favorite treatment. Bring a tent, a hammock and a meaningless but interesting book and just lay around, listening to nature, enjoying the hearing the drama of the campers nearby and talking walks, exploring.
I also have found that journaling helps, just writing down stream of thought. You'll find that it starts off really chaotic, but if you stick with it, your mind starts to organize what is going through it.
I'm also a big fan of sleep. I love long naps, expecially when I feel overwhelmed.
And don't forget about a long hot bath or shower. It is so soothing, and it will put you in la-la land for a while, even if it is short lived.
Point is, we all have moments like this but not all the time, and certainly not for two months. You definietly need a break from it. Do something to just give yourself a little time off from the chaotic head chatter and maybe it can stop the vicious cycle.
Hope this helps!

I have the magic answer! Go to the local bookstore, a large one like Boarders Books and go to the CD section and get a hypnosis CD. Play it on your CD player near your bed, or you can buy a player cheap these days, put it on continuous play throughout the night. I would suggest a CD on self confidence, Restful sleep, Healing, Ocean waves, I like my Whale songs CD. I have been listening to these types of tapes for the past 20 years or so. They are wonderful, and you'll be able to sleep, wake up refreshed, feeling you can take on the world all over again. So get in the car tonight and get a tape or two, they usually run abou $10-15 dollars each. The hypnosis-self help CD section is usually pretty small, but lots of choices, you might have to ask an employee where to look. Fred Meyer and some other stores like Walmart or Target have a selection of CD's that play soft music of different kinds, like rain showers, harps, classical piano, and Restfull sleep. Use them at night, lay down=get comfortable, really comfortable, say your prayers, take a few deep breaths, relax...when you are all settled in all snug and tight-reach over and push the button and listen to the sounds. You will soon fall asleep - usually within 10-15 minutes. If your brain is really pushed to the limiit these help your mind wind down and get the rest it needs. You've been on overload for way too long. So get in the car.....NOW!! Sweet dreams!

Do you exercise? When I get like that, I go swim laps or for a while I took a yoga class. When I do things like that I am so busy counting breaths or strokes or what have you that my head clears and I can't think about the other gazillion things buzzing around in my head at everyother point of the day.

It helps me to focus on one area of the body and try to feel only what that area feels. breath deeply as you do this. I do this to relax and focus before exams if I have a lot going on. It works very well for me

I have found that taking a long walk by myself helps me to clear my mind. When I first start out I am thinking about everything and by the time I finish my walk I have forgotten about all of it. It won't take everything away, but it sure gives your brain time to rest and breathe.

focus on your breath.
watch your breath come in.
watch your breath go out.
continue.
at first this may be difficult, but soon it will become easy and you willl feel peace of mind, more clarity of thought, and a whole lot happier.

Go to a psychiatrist, they may prescribe you a medication to help.
Otherwise, yoga is an excellent choice.

nothing a night with Jack Daniels can't cure. Add prescription meds and you're packing...
