I have been an Episcopalian for over 50 years. Yup, I'm older than dirt. There have been numerous changes in our society over these years and the churches need to change some of their views in order to remain effective in their practices. I believe that it's a good thing that Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori was elected and would not have been so if there were thoughts that she wouldn't do a good job as Bishop. I admire the courage it took to take the lead in positive changes in our church.

Jesus did not come here to establish a political democracy.
Because Eve was the first to give in to temptation by Satan and then, in turn, tempted Adam, man was put as the head of the family. And Jesus chose all 12 of His apostles (bishops) to be men.
But the Episcopal sect is not the Church that Jesus founded and has no apostolic succession, so this is not surprising that they would teach things radically different than Jesus (God in the flesh) did. So at best, this is only a mockery of the true Church which was founded by Jesus.
"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and for ever" (Heb 13:8).

This is a good thing. The biblical translations popular in our times have not followed Gods laws regarding women's leadership as holy.It was never His intention for the world to be lead by men only.

1 Timothy 2:11,12
11) Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
12) But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
1 Corinthians 14: 33-36
33) For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
34) Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.
35) And if they will learn anything, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
36) what? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?

Well, this would be bad, since it would be against the qualifications for a leader in the church according to I and II Timothy and Titus. Going against God isn't that good. :)

Why wouldn't it be? Just because some religious want woman to be 2nd class doesn't mean the progressive religions do.
