I tried Zoloft and it gave me a lot of anxiety and agitation. Paxil helped alot tho.

Not sure, but I have been on psychotropic medication since 1990. Zoloft is the one I have used the longest. What concerns me is that you state you have "been on antidepressants off and on" If the doctor does not tell you to stop taking the meds, stay on them. Too often a person begins feeling good, and thinks everything is OK, and goes off the medicine. That would be like saying "I can see with my glasses, so I don't need them any more."
As far as what you can expect, I do not know, but I personally never felt any physical side effects from Zoloft. It does, however, take about 2 weeks to get into your system completely.

I was on Zoloft for several years and never had any adverse effects. In fact, it helped my depression considerably or at least I could tell the difference when I accidentally missed a dose. I mean it was not a miracle cure but nothing is going to be that way for me. It kept my depression underneath the surface so that I could get through each day and feel normal. The only reason I am not taking it now is that I have been put on Geodon and it has helped my depression more.

When I took Zoloft for a couple of months I got the feeling that nothing mattered, someone could be laying there bleeding and I would have walked right on by. That is not the way I am normally. Hope I never have that happen again. And you can forget sex.

Zoloft gave me a rash. Hopefully it won't do the same to you.

i was on this briefly (now scrip-free)... i would recommend starting on zoloft on a day when you're off work and have no plans... it's different for everyone i assume, but for a couple days after i started, my thoughts went into warp-speed and my inhibitions completely collapsed (i told a few co-workers to go to hell, basically)... after a couple days all was good.

Anything that could be with the other antidepressants. I couldn't take that, or didn't want to, because of the sexual side effects.
