Think about it before you answer. Do you simply choose not to believe? Have you actually researched to find out information to support your beliefs? Have you researched to find out what a Christian truly believes and why? Is your eternity, if you are wrong, rally not worth it?

I believe in Christ Jesus as my only saviour and value my relationship with him. If I am wrong, then my time was not wasted. If there is nowhere to go, as some believe, what did I lose? Nothing, but if I am right, I gain eternity with Christ. Good deeds and just believing gets me nowhere. My relationship and repentance of my sins through Christ who died and shed his blood for me is what matters. Good deeds and the rest naturally follow. I expected to be bashed with alot of negative comments. Naturally, if my Lord and Saviour was treated this way, the servant who is below him is expected the same.

Outside of the the Bible, which is truth, try some books by Lee Strobel of Tim LaHaye - modern day. Historical records by Pontius Pilate, Flavius Josephus, Cornelius Tacitus, The Talmud. All the ancient findings that have been discovered in the 1800's to present that support exactly what the Bible says in regards to places or events?

"What if your belief is wrong?"

Pascal wager again. What if your beliefs are wrong? What if muslims are right? You are going to hell. What if what we call now greek mythology was right? You'll be send to Hades. Will you change your belief because others believe you will go to hell? I don't know about you, but personally, I won't. I doesn't matter if you think I'm facing eternal damnation, I'm being honest with you and anyone else when I say I don't believe. Does the god you believe in hate honesty? Do you believe only because you are afraid of eternal punishment? Is that all what moves you to believe? You whole idea of punishment in hell means nothing to me.

Atheist, former catholic and former christian (read the bible cover to cover twice once as a believer and once as a non-believer). I know pretty well christianity, been there, done that and by the way, believing in christ, according to christianity, doesn't assure you won't be send to hell, it's up to god, not you to decide. Do you know what it is to be atheistic?

=== EDIT ===
"Historical records by Pontius Pilate, Flavius Josephus, Cornelius Tacitus, The Talmud. All the ancient findings that have been discovered in the 1800's to present that support exactly what the Bible says in regards to places or events?"

Do you know Crete exists? That there are archeological findings that prove Minos (the ancient king) existence? That there are pictures and records of him (Herodotus, Thucydides, Pausanias among others)? According to your "logic", if his existence has been proven, Does that prove he was the son of a God (in this case Zeus)? That his wife had a son that was part human and part bull (the Minotaur? That Poseidon used to give him gifts? The the whole Icarus story is true? That in current days, Minos judge dead people when they reach Hades? This might prove that Zeus and Poseidon exist! Take the Iliad accounts, more proof that the greek god are the true gods! Socrates was sentenced to death because Atenea was upset, Atenea exists!

If all these aren't true, why should we take all the supernatural christians accounts as true just because some historical records and archeological findings? What's your "logic"?

*sigh* I feel like I say this too often.

I am not a NON-BELIEVER. I have a very strong belief in my religion. To imply otherwise is insulting my faith. Would you like me to call you a non-believer because you're not Wiccan? I doubt that you would. Why do you not think that others would be insulted by this behavior from you?

I AM a non-Christian. I am a non-Christian because I found no spiritual satisfaction within the Christian religion, no bonding to other Christians, mostly because so many of them were so hypocritical it made me sick. I disagree with many of the things that the Bible says, and I also disagree with many things that the religions based on the Bible teach--not always the same thing. I was raised Christian, read the Bible several times, went to church with my pastor father, and still found nothing in it that I could believe in. So then I began to research OTHER faiths. I contemplated Hinduism or Buddhism, but I found that paganism in general and Wicca in particular are more suited to my personal beliefs. I still believe in a Deity, one that has both a female and a male face, instead of making females into an evil, tempting, lustful sort of sub-human species.

My eternity is through reincarnation. I firmly believe that it takes more than one shot to get our souls to the level where we are good enough NOT to need to reincarnate. When our souls are mature enough, I believe that we will merge with the Deity after our last death.

Have you found research to support your beliefs? I've read the Bible, three times. I'm about to get started on other religious works to dissect them as well. The simple truth is that there is no good evidence supporting any gods. If I should be wrong, and there is a god, then it can do with me what it wants. Christians believe in hell, that works for me, since Atheists and homosexuals will be there anyway. I can get down with hell and heaven seems pretty f'ed up if you ask me. As for other religions, some of their gods are forgiving, some aren't. I really don't care. Because I have complete confidence in my beliefs.

1) Most atheists and agnostics know more about your religion than you do.
Hence, those who choose not to believe usually have more information to back it than those who choose to believe.

2) I'd like to know what "research" has been conducted by xtians to support their belief.
I don't think you realise just how easy it is and how little "information" it really takes to debunk a faith system of an organized religion.

3) Yes, yes. That's right, simple non-believers will be roasting in the same eternal hell as child rapist/murderers, Hitler, abortionists, and Osama just to name a few. What a sick fantasy.

4) why do you care?

(if I were to 'except' Christ, he would be the exception)

FURTHERMORE, I WONDER IF THE POSTER CALLS PEOPLE FROM PARTS OF THE GLOBE (ESPECIALLY OF THE PAST) WHO HAVE NEVER HEARD OF JESUS CHRIST "NON-BELIEVERS",
HOW EXACTLY COULD ONE BE A NON-BELIEVER WHEN THEY NEVER WERE GIVEN ANY INFORMATION ABOUT IT, AND WHERE DOES THE POSTER THINK THAT THIS CATAGORY OF PEOPLE (IN THE MILLIONS PAST AND PRESENT) GO WHEN THEY DIE?
AND DOES THE POSTER KNOW HOW MUCH HUMAN DAMAGE HAS BEEN DONE, HOW MANY WOMEN AND BABIES BURNED, HOW MUCH SUFFERING WENT ON TRYING TO SPREAD THE GOOD WORD TO THE REST OF THE GLOBE OVER THE PAST THOUSAND YEARS?

I don't understand your question- "do you choose not to believe?" what does this mean? You choose to believe- I choose not to believe. Of course I have "researched" God- anyone who dares to ask those tough questions, and is willing to accept the findings comes to the conclusion that there is ZERO scientific evidence of God's existence. There are so many holes in religious explanations, that being a Skeptic ( meaning someone who wants scientific proof before believing fantastic claims ) it was a natural progression. It was scary letting go of the "safety net" of God, since I like others had been told to believe since the day I was born. I am not going to worship some unseen, illogical entity out of fear for "what if I'm wrong?" This argument by Christians is so dumb. If I am wrong, we are screwed anyways, because by religion's own unrealistic standards we are all going to hell.

I was raised a Christian and left when I was 15. I don't believe I will ever meet Jesus.. he was human not a deity. I do not believe he and the christian deity is the same. I know what christianity entails.. I did the church thing, the Sunday school thing and even through all that I when all was said and done I could not accept that a human being was a deity and left the church. My family is christian of varying denominations and my husband is a christian. They respect my decision in following the religious and spiritual path that I feel is the correct one for myself and I respect them all the more for that.

Blessed Be.

Go to Wikipedia.com and search for "Pascal's Wager." This is an old argument that non-believers have heard many times, so your question is not new.

I don't need to "support" my belief that there is no god. You're the one who claims that this extraordinary being exists, so the burden of proof falls on you. Go ahead: Prove it.

As for what happens if I'm wrong, I'll make you an offer: If you and I should meet on some warm day in hell, I will 1) apologize for doubting you, and 2) buy you a drink.

I'd say "Hello, Love; I knew it was you all along."

I'm not worried. Any god worth worshiping is looking to the true heart, the true will, of a person, and not a superficial report card or a limited view such as most Christians seem to have.

No, Honey, I don't believe you are trying to be rude. But nevertheless, your question is rude, because it assumes facts not in evidence: that your belief is right and the rest of us are wrong.

I have done a lot of research on the New Testament and Jesus.
Jesus was not the son of G-d nor was he a god.

It is plain and simple. Christianity has no basis in the "Old Testament". None.

What if you are wrong? Do you actually think there is no consequences? You are a polytheist? Have you read the "Old Testament"? Surely you know his views on polytheism.
