Different fine prices in every city, town, jurisdiction (sp?). You will need to go to your court date to find out.

As for being 19? Underage drinking could lose your driver's liscence.

You and your friends were damn lucky to have only been cited for open container.
In the State of Texas,ALL of you could have gone to jail for any or all of the following....
1.Minor in Possession
2.Minor in Consumption
3.Open Container
4.Operating a motor vehicle under the influence (doesn't matter if you were drunk or not)

In the State of Texas, anyone under the age of 21 that is caught drinking period stands to loose their license for up to one year and if you are just now getting your license you could be faced with not being able to get your license until the age of 21.

Nevertheless,I think that the usual fine/charge is usually somewhere between $250.00 to $1000.00. There is usually some community time to be served and or 6mo or more on probation.
Now with probation comes a charge that has to be paid to the probation officer each month....I call it the "privilege to visit you each month money".
If "open container" is considered a moving violation which I am sure it is,there is also the extra that your insurance company is going to end up charging you because now you are a higher risk.
That almost empty 40oz bottle might have been full for what it is going to cost you.

You got to put all liquor in the trunk while driving. Anything in the call is seen as an open container that the driver can get to.
You will lose your licence for a year, depending what state you live in, and a fine.

Different fines in different states. Although you are lucky, it should have also been a minor in possession charge as well. If you are all Under 21 they could have charged you all. FYI: all liquor must be transported in the non passenger areas of the vehicle. Like the trunk.

i live in chicago and got busted at an under age party in a college town. me and 12 other people had to pay $350.00 each. GOOD LUCK! but you're screwed. noone under the age of 21 should be in posession of alcohol, no matter how much it is. oh well, **** happens. you guys had fun, right? :)

It depends on what State you live in and if the driver has ever had any other tickets.
