The only true repent of a sin is to turn from it and avoid it at all possible. Most of the time it is possible to avoid.
You do not need forgiveness from a priest, preacher or anyone other then Jesus himself. He is the only one who can forgive the sin.
Once forgiven from a sin, that sin is no longer relevant to anyone but yourself. Jesus forgave it, so it never happened. Don't keep reliving that old sin. Maybe you should truly go back and ask for forgiveness for that sin and the lack of belief that it was forgiven in the first place.

You have repented of sins if you pray and are truly sorry for having done them. If you keep doing them on purpose and think, all I have to do is pray for forgiveness, then your not really sorry. That doesn't mean you won't sin the same sin twice or more, but you really have to be sorry and trying not to repeat it.
Once a sin is forgiven by God it is erased as it had never occurred. So you don't actually bring it back.
Search your heart and ask God to search you and convict you of your sins so that you can not keep repeating. Ask him to give you the strength and control not to do it.

Well, if you repent that means that first you CONFESS your sins to God. Then, you ask forgiveness of those sins. You are automatically forgiven. And I don't believe that sinning again will bring up past sins. God basically says that once you repent the slate is wiped clean. He never remembers those again, as far as the east is from the west.

Hi, Knowledge, why don't you think about your relationship with God similar to the relationship you might have with a parent?
If it is a good relationship, your mom or dad loves you, takes care of you, is really interested in what you're doing, who you are, what you're good at, and they encourage and support you and help you to become the best person you could be.
You in turn love them, show interest in them, want to please them, listen to what they have to say, take their advice seriously, and go to them just to see them.
When you sin against someone like your parent, you basically break the relationship, hurt their feelings, tell them you don't trust them or like them or (worse) just don't care what effect your actions have on your relationship with them.
This is like sinning against God. There's an empty space now between you, it's hard to want to look God in the eye, you have trouble feeling connected or even wanting to talk.
Repenting means that you are "okay" with God again -- that you're sorry for what you did and that you put such a space between the two of you. You decide that you want to be able to "be with God" and be close to him more than you wanted to do the other thing you could chose over him.
So when you repent, you are able to talk to God, look for God, appreciate God, want to see Him do cool things. You aren't ashamed that he might see you. You're fine with him knowing your "secrets." You can live in the "same house" again -- like what would happen if there was ever bad blood between you and your parents, but then you repented and apologized.
(That's what repentance feels like.)
We can only repent because God has promised that He loves us and wants to be in a good relationship with us, no matter what we do. If we want to "make up," God has promised to take us back.
Sinning doesn't really "bring back" past sins per se. But if you keep sinning the same sin, it seems like you have not really repented and you are choosing something else to be more important than your relationship to God. So those sins are a barrier between you and God getting "back together."
Hope that helps to think of it like that.

Have you changed your mind bout' doing it???? That's repentance. To not want to do it any more, no matter how long it take's to over-come it completely. Some SIN's you repent of can take year's to finally over-come (you go back and do it again), just keep-on keeping on and finally!!!!!!!
p.s. When you sin, RUN to JESUS, not away, no matter how many time's you fail.!!!!Don't let the devil put you under condemnation, cause he will try!!!

I must quote from the Holy Bible to give you the truth as you seek it.
1John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

you can't bring back past sins if you have already confessed them and been forgiven but they will be treated as new sins since the last confession
