Getting blond highlights in black hair is tough. I used to dye my hair black, and I bleached it blond. I had to bleach the f*ck out of it get it to change, and it was pretty fired at the end of the process. Even after all that it had streaks and patches of reddish color where all the black did not come out. You could try with a bleach creme, but you'll have to leave it on for longer than expected, and you might not be able to get it blond everywhere you want it to be. This is doubly a problem if you have been dyeing it black for a while, because all the layers of black might not come up.
I know you don't want to have to spend the money, but the safest bet is to go to stylist and have it done professionally. If you are really opposed to that, try beaching the places you want for 15 mins or so once a week for a couple of weeks. This way you give your hair a break, although you'll have reddish streaks in your hair for a while until you get them as blond as you want.

Going to the salon is always the best choice when you are changing your hair color that drastically. I know that's not what you wanted to hear (nor did i when did it ...i'm inpatient!) But i used to dye my hair blue black for years and years and wanted to go blonde. Going to the salon was definitely the best thing! They were able to lighten my black hair all the way up to bright blonde, it was great, but yes it was like $100. You could also try to do it at home by bleaching it. Ive done that tons of times too . It will turn red before blonde because hair goes through different stages colors when you're lightening it, but leave it on long enough and it will eventually turn blonde! Just follow the instructions in the box and make sure your hair and scalp are in good condition before you try it! Good luck!

Please go to a Professional. Black and blonde colors are two of the harshest colors to dye your hair. If your black has a red undertone, then yes it will turn red. You can also talk to a Clairol Color specialist and they can give you some tips, but you must use their products. Good Luck. (PS, I tried it by myself without any help and my hair turned orange with yellow roots. Good luck again.

well you could bleach it but that damages your hair. blonde hair dyes work but sometimes you have to leave them in for a long time or do a few applications

it is going to be difficult because you cannot put blond with black because later you black hair is going to come and is not going to last for along time

that's going to be really hard to do. i would try bleaching it maybe, or stripping the color out, but be careful because those can be really damaging to your hair.
