Write what you know. Keep a journal for a few years, then go back over it and use your experiences to write. Good luck.

Writing and publishing are two very different processes. Writing is about art, and expressing yourself or sharing your interest in a subject. Publishing is a business.
Start with writing. What do you like to think about? What would you like to talk about with the best friend you can imagine? What stories keep running around your head, day after day?
That's the stuff you write. Write it ALL. Then try to figure out who your "ideal reader" would be. Think about the best possible reader in the world.
Now, go back and re-write your stuff so that reader is absolutely glued to the page.
Then, if your parents and teachers think your work is ready, buy some books on the publishing process and on writing proposals and query letters. You may need some help writing these.
At 10, you are a little young to publish. But you are not too young to start the process. Take your time, Write what you love, and re-write for your imaginary reader. And keep doing it. You'll get better and better.
I wish you all possible luck and success.

You want to publish a book but haven't even written it? Why on earth would you want to publish a book that doesn't even have a plot outline? Girl, you need to have a story and then write it!
If you need ideas, I've got some:
- write the story of your life (keep a diary up to date and then convert it into a story when you come of age)
- Write a fantasy book based on your own fantasy world, have whatever magical things you want in it.
- Start a fictional diary based on the kind of person you wish you were.
Whatever you write, remember, do NOT plagerize! Hope you've got the patience to write a novel.

It usually works the other way round- people write because they love to write. Write the book first then someone publishes it. Write what you love and it will be amazing, even if it never gets published!

Whatever floats your boat. Kids' books are liable to be most popular, I reckon.
Myself I plan to write self-help books, children's, teen's, and stories for adults. Also, poetry, joke books, and book of essays
