well i'll tell you. if your 13 you're still growing which is normal. if your 156 pounds at 5'6" thats normal too. should you be that big at age 13, i dont know. but it seems that kids are growing up faster now a days due to all the chemicals in the food supply. as for you appetite, its normal since your growing. just remember to use some self control and eat healthy. dont carry that eating habit onto your teenage years and so on. eat bout 4-6 meals a day but eat small healthy portions. dont EVER eat to make yourself full. just eat to get past hunger. what this does is it keeps your metabolism high so that you dont stack on the pounds. and remember to stay active. dont be in your room all day playing video games or being online.

There is nothing wrong with eating. It is WHAT you are eating that causes the problems. You probably already know this but you need to bulk up on fruits and veggies, lay off the breads, and sweets (low carb/low fat breads in moderation) and drink TONS of water to flush your system. As you are still growing this process will help your skin tone, your hair, and also help you lose weight. You must also exercise, walk everywhere you can, or ride your bike, swim, go to a rec center, etc. The combination can't do anything but help you.

PS if you must eat sweets do it at lunch not at night.

Good luck. You'll do GREAT!

Jessica - This is no easy task. However, I have some good advice. To lose weight, you need to burn more calories than you eat. Eating very little is very hard to do, and not healthy. You need to eat the right things. Eat fresh fruits and vegetables as much and as often as you can. An iceberg salad with cheese bacon and lots of dressing does not count. Fruits and vegetables have very little calories, but still fill you up AND are packed with nutrients. If you crave something unhealthy and are about to "binge" on a meal, a very unhealthy one, grab a few tomatoes and a few oranges. Eat them. YOu will be very full, but then you can top off with a little bit of an indulgance food. Then you will be satisfied. So you will be full AND satisfied, and have less calories in you. Also, excersize every day obvi

To loose weight: eat a balanced diet, eat less, and exercise more.
To keep the weight off, you should loose about 1 pound per week.
Spot reducing (e.g. from waist or thighs) does not work.

Don't be ashamed. We all have our faults. Stay away from white flour and sugar. Eat more meals with smaller portions. Snack on freeze dried fruits and nuts. Drink water alot. You can drop the weight, i believe you can.

I wad the same height and weight as you back in the day. Before I hit puberty I was a stick and then I gained so much weight! Luckily, you will grow into your body and eventually the baby fat will melt off so don't worry so much. Your body is trying to adjust to puberty (menestration) If you havent got it yet you will soon.
