I dyed my hair a strawberry blondish color, but the highlights included look tacky. I want it to be a solid reddish color. I did it last night. Do I need to wait before I redye it, if so, how long? I really don't like it.. :( (Yes, I should've had it done professionally, but it's so expensive!) Thanks for your help!

Dear, if you put color and highlights in your hair and now you want to go to a solid color, you HAVE to go to a professional..
this is a corrective color.
first, the blonde highlights have to be filled (where the pigments that were pulled out by the lightener are replaced) and then you have to color on top of that.
If you do NOT fill your hair first and you color over top of it, you could end up with PINK or ORANGE highlights.
you HAVE to see a professional to get anything other than amature results.

I would condition it with Aussie DEEEP and leave it on overnight.
Just use an old pillowcase or sleep in a shower cap.

Then I would get Nutresse in the shade you want and redo it the day after the conditioning.
Nutresse is always beautiful and perfect and does not damage your hair at all.

DO use the Aussie DEEEEP. Not the regular Aussie conditioner.
It will work better than anything and make your hair healthy enough to take another color treatment right away.
Use it OVERNIGHT again after you do the new color treatment and wash it out the next day.

They make highlighting brushes for re-highlights and
Pantene Pro-V For Blondes (and other hair colors)Shampoo Conditioner etc... That Helped restore my hair.

Wal-mart has a good selection.

or ask a hairdresser what products on the market are safe for home use.

It's really not a good idea to dye it so soon after you just did it. It's not good for your hair. I usually wait at least a month or two before redoing mine. You can really damage your hair by putting so many chemicals on it at one time. I would wait if I were you.

usually people with dark hair dont get the greatest results when they dye their hair. i tried to put in a red for the bottom half of my hair and you could hardly see it. i suggest using a bleach or blonde hair dye before you use the real color. kind of like a base coat. unfortunatly its best for your hair if you wait about 3 months. also once i put a bottle of dark brown hair dye under a lamp for 10 minutes and i put in in my hair over night. it came out bright red the next morning so try out diffrent experiments. also if your hair looks bad just wear it with confidence for the next three months. even the worst hair can look fabulous with a smile.

At least wait 2 weeks or you will damage your hair. The chemicals are real bad on your hair. Trust me wait 2 weeks.

just wait a little while, like a week or more maybe, cause to many chemicals can damage the hair.
