Your local community action agency should be able to put you in contact with someone who can help... perhaps even do it at no cost to you. In the US, most Community Service Block Grants are administered by these local community action agencies. You should be able to find their number in the phone book, or you can check with Social Services, they would know of one in your area.
Good Luck!

If you stop and visit (if you can), or call (visiting would be best; places like hardware stores, Home Depot, or Lowes (home improvement places) you may ask one of the clerks there if they know anyone that does the kind of work on the side that you need.
A lot of times folks that work there are trying very hard to get their own business going and are eager to take good jobs like yours. They often charge a lot less that the 'pros', are usually reliable and trustworthy.
You still have to be careful tho, and there's no guarantees in this, but it is worth checking.
Good luck to you.

I am not sure if you have a local branch of Habitat for Humanity in your city, they may be able to help you or assist you in getting some help. They are a christian based, non profit organization helping needing and deserving families with affordable housing. Hope this helps

Do you have any family, or friends, who would help you? Did you try and hire someone? There has to be somebody looking for work. Try putting an add in your local paper..
