Get a pyrethrin dip from the pet store or have a groomer do it your self. Spray your yard and house with pyrethrin. If you don't treat the dog, house and yard at the same time you'll never get rid of the problem. I worked in the pet business for 5 years and people have the best success getting the flea spray, flea bombs, flea shampoo, flea & tick dip, outdoor yard spray. It can cost $60 and up depending on the size of the house. Zodiac flea products work the best. It use to be a pet store brand only and is now sold at Target. No need to say good luck , because it works if you do it right the first time. Pyrethirn comes from a flower so it's safer than other chemicals. Never had any complaints from customers.

If you have the space and live in the country Guineas (a type of chicken) are the best. They eat ticks and they love to eat. You turn them loose and they will gobble them up like candy.
As for the ones on the dog pull them off and check every day several times per day.
The Zodiac product is ok but does not work that well for ticks.
Some of the others like Frontline and K9 Advantix work.
I use Bio-Spot and I only have found dead ticks on my dogs.

We have tried almost every product on the market! Best thing we have found is Guineas(a type of chicken) They get most of the ticks, and other bugs, too, but unless you live in the country or own some land, not a good idea!
