I have been taking effexor for a couple of months. I forgot to take it a couple of times and was dizzy as sh!t. Overall it has been a good experience other than that. Have you had any bad experiences with this drug? I would love to know.

Yes, I am on it now for about 4 months. Was on it a couple of years ago for about 3-4 years.

Don't know what your dose is, mine is 2 in the evening. And mine is "XR"... Time Released. Much better. It doesn't kick my a**.

Yes, if I miss, I start to feel it by the mid of the next day. It is a very strange feeling. Dizzy (like you exp.), also, I feel what I call a "swishing" sound when I move my eyeballs (hahaha), I know it sounds weird, but you'll know when you exp. it.

What I suggest... DON'T FORGET YOUR MEDS!

It then, takes me only a couple of hours once I take it to feel better again.

I agree, it has agreed with me also.

It is very hard to get off of it and you need to do it under a Drs. care and very slowly. I'm very sensitive to medication so I go even slower...

If you want to talk further about it, feel free to email me.

I have not taken effexor, although I do know that dizziness is a common withdrawal symptom. Unfortunately effexor does not have a long half life so it does not take many missed doses to feel those effects. Try to take the medicine at a regular time in the day so it is easier for you to remember :)

I took effexor only a couple of times, and I had horrible nightmares. I don't know if it was a coincidence, I also had weird dreams when I first started taking prozac. But I stopped taking it after that.

I tried to stop taking it too suddenly once and it and made my body feel like ants were crawling all over me and i was weak and tired but couldn't sleep.
It's been a pretty good one for me but recently started getting increased panic attacks and my Doctor took me off of Effexor (gradually) because he said it's not really the best SSRI for Panic Disorder.

Yep. It works pretty good. Makes me sweat like crazy and I went off it once and had a horrible time. Don't forget to take it or go off it suddenly. Stay in close contact with your doc about it!
