"The Bible says so" or "the teachings of Jesus" are not what I'm looking for. I am interested in *your* opinion only. I am trying to find out if people honestly make their own moral choices.

I don't believe pre-marital sex is immoral. I believe that morality is a human construct, not of God. There is nothing that God cannot be, do or have except to not Be. This means that God does not need to punish or judge us. This is a strictly human quality.

I feel that pre-marital sex as a sin is a man-made rule created by early male church leaders in order to promote their own patriarchal agenda and control the masses by having them live fear-based lives.

I am a Christian pastor and when I was younger my wife to be and I struggled with this same question.
It seems against the very nature of man to abstain from sex at a time when his hormones are raging.
But then again perhaps that is the reason.
We all know what sex can cause.
One of two things.
Disease or babies.
A young man and a young lady just getting married don't need the additional burden of having a child out of wedlock or getting married because she's pregnant.
Children are a tremendous responsibility and honestly my wife and I wouldn't have been ready when we were dating.
By the way, I'll admit we played around.
We have been married for 33 years.

When you say "premarital" do you mean between a couple who is engaged to be married but who just can't wait for the ceremony?

If not, I think that they are immoral because my God given sensibilities tell me that a person who has indiscriminate sex outside of a committed relationship is more like an animal than a higher being created in God's image.

Not to mention, consider this scene at a wedding reception and think about how it would impact the spouse.

Suppose you had just gotten married and you were walking through a large reception party and you happened to overhear a group of guests who were all of the same sex comparing stories of times when they had engaged in sex with your new partner.

They were all talking about things like "Yeah well this one time I was with him/her and we were....and he/she really....."

Wouldn't that leave a rotten taste in your mouth as you looked forward to your wedding night knowing that plenty of other people had already shared what should be this most intimate of moments with your spouse?

If having sex with anyone was OK why would there be so much disease spread by having sex. Do it is immoral and the disease are God's way of telling you to stop and wait till you are committed to only one person

I believe that premarital relations are wrong. I feel that they lead to physical and emotions problems for various reasons. When you lie down with another whom you're not married to ... I feel you take on that persons issues as well (become as one). If you're involved with several problems ... well, I feel that you are damaging yourself physically and emotionally, as I mentioned above.

The only 'immoral' sexual relationships are those not between consenting adults.

Would you share your body with someone and bond with them in that way who did not love you enough to want to commit to you in marriage?
