Pasticcio ("Mess")

Boil some pasta (try penne or farfalle- avoid long pastas like spaghetti)
Roast some veggies (pepper, eggplants, tomatoes, zucchini, corn, etc) in the oven until they're soft (brush with olive oil first)
Heat up some tomato sauce (add herbs and spices if you want- add cumin and chili powder for a south-west dish, or add basil, oregano and sage for an Italian dish)
Grate some cheese (mozzarella for the Italian dish, cheddar and monteray jack for the southwest version)

Pour the cooked, drained pasta into a baking dish and mix in the roasted veggies. Pour the tomato sauce over it all. Mix in half the cheese. Mix the other half of the cheese with breadcrumbs and sprinkle the mixture on top. Bake in the oven until the cheese on top is brown and bubbly. Serve with a salad (buy a bag of mixed, cut greens for easy salad).

Squash Casserole (It's slightly crunchy, very creamy, and delicious!)

1.2 lbs. squash
2.1 med. chopped onion
3.½ pt. /1 cup sour cream
4.1 can cream of chicken soup
5.1 stick butter
6.1 grated carrot
7.1 chopped green pepper
8.1 cup Pepperidge Farm Stuffing Mix

Cook the squash and onion until tender. Drain them well. Add the sour cream, soup, carrot, and pepper.

In a separate bowl, add melted butter to stuffing mix, stirring well. Add some of this mixture to the squash. Pour everything in a casserole dish and sprinkle remaining stuffing mix on the top. Bake in a 350o oven for 30 minutes.

Pasta...So many easy sauces to make. One of my favorite is...boil some short pasta. In a frying pan, add olive oil, some onion, some peppers, garlic, cook till tender, add a can of tuna, the zest and juice of one lemon, some cherry tomatoes or a diced tomato, salt and pepper. When pasta is cooked, drain, toss in the sauce. Done, delicious.
Don't eat packaged crap, it is awful for you.

See if any of your bachelor friends want to go together and make meals and then split them (like dream dinners). I know it' hard to cook for just one person. But if you make some dishes and then split them and freeze them, it's better then eating junk.

Am I the only one who loves Chef Boyardee? God bless that dead Italian man! Also, since I am a bachelorette, I enjoy Red Baron microwavable or oven cooked pizza, Hot Pockets, and tuna and noodles. No recipe needed for any!!!

If you want a great website for easy and tasty recipies, go to www.kraftfoods.com. They have quick recipies, and the best part is they don't look like they came out of a box. Many of the ingredients are something you already have in your fridge and pantry. One of my favorites is the foil salsa chicken bake!

i remember "shepherds pie" from camp.
it has ground beef browned down.
then make potatoes for mashed potatoes--boil and mash and spread 1/2 of pan over beef and had any vegetables--corn, beans and peas and spread over potatoes. take other half of potatoes and put on top of vegetables. then put in 350 degree oven. and cook 1 hour.
there is spaghetti ;taught my daughter this one when she was 8yr. her first meal she cooked for family. very easy.
then hamburgers on the grill with baked potato(potato in microwave)(10min). very easy.

hope this gives some simple ideas for a bachelor.
