Your dog has to be specially trained and certified to be a "Therapy Dog", then they can go to hospitals, nursing home, etc. (with advance notice, of course). You can find out about this program at your local kennel club, or at www.akc.org.

It can take alot of training, but the return is worth it. Many people respond to dogs that won't really respond to people. I've gone through it, and it's very, VERY rewarding.

No...not unless the dog is trained in helping the handicapped. Oh.. and don't forget to get approval from your boss.

What kind of dog? I have a great dane and she is so clumsy. I am afraid when she gets around older people 'cause she likes to lean on people. She's knock them over. She weighs 130 pounds. It would depend on your dog. Maybe you should put him in a training class for that area.

If it is trained to do so if not I don't think you should.

You also need to keep in mind that some people are allergic to dogs so you might want to ask the people where you work if it is OK.

uh, are you allowed to? if no one had a problem, I'd love to bring my dog, or my snakes, but I work in a Federal Building.
we have one blind guy in my office, and he has a guide dog, Pastel. She is the sweetheart of the office, and so long as she's not "on the job" in harness, she's everyone's favorite office worker. I log off to visit with her once in a while, two desks away, and I'm pretty sure my impending stroke has been delayed a bit by those visits.
