Revelation says that the people of God in heaven will be clothed in white and they will have crowns of glory on their heads. Is this symbolic of the righteousness of Christ or actual physical clothes?

I believe it's all symbolic. If we will be "spiritual beings" at that time, I don't think we will have natural clothes on. I really believe it's symbolic, relating to the pure righteousness that we will obtain in glory.

(Both) White symbolizes purity, and the saints will beactually robed in white. This is an excellent question because the book of revelation is full of symbolisms.

Most likely it's symbolic. White is known to symbolize purity, which is what people believe will happen to them after death in Heaven.

I believe that it is the white light of the holy spirit surrounding our spirits. The physical incarnation we now know as our body will cease to be and clothing will not be necessary for the soul. The beauty of each soul will be revealed.

Here's an excerpt from a commentary the Lord put it on my heart to write for my own edification that I've made available on my website @ http://web.express56.com/~bromar/ under the 7 Churches button.

Revelation 3:4 Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.

1. Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments;

a. The unredeemed members of the church had defiled their garments by trusting in their own righteousness for salvation instead of the imputed righteousness available through faith in Christ.

a. Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. 7 And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us, because of our iniquities.

2.and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.

a. Jesus declares that those who were born again and walking according to the Holy Spirit are worthy of the eternal life represented by the white garments.

i. Rev 7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; 10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.

ii. Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

White colour represents something that is clean and Holy...
It gives us an image of how Heaven is like...
A Place created for those whose sins are washed away by the blood of JESUS CHRIST....
