Brian G- "you exist, therefore someone made you, therefore God exists.
end of argument"
that doesn't make any sense. using that argument God would need a creator. but if i were to ask you who created God you'll just say he always existed. if God's existance can be eternal then why can't the universes existance? i'll even prove this is how brian g will answer i will ask the question on yahoo answers

The universe is a place of nearly unbreakable scientic laws. One of those laws is that you can't get something out of nothing. Every day scientists get closer to proving that there was indeed a big bang and that the universe was created from the energy of this explosion. What does this have to do with God? Here's a mundane supposition, let's say you want to make a paper mache volcano for your school science fair. Naturally you're going to use baking soda and vinegar to make your lava. But if you simply place the beakers next to each other, not combining them at all will a reaction occur? Of course not. The same supposition can be applied to the universe. The elements that created the universe are all harmless, elementary substances on their own but combining them can have...explosive results. But how did they come together at the same time?? Not accidentally. Personally, I believe that God created the universe, but not man. God is the ultimate man of science. :o)

The mere fact that you make reference to God depicts that you believe in God's existence. Your confusion is in, what is God? We all believe in God, don't be fooled. Some people just choose to refer to it as something else or with a different term.
God is something that has a certain control over our lives. We all know it exist; the question is what to do with it or for it? In life we build our wisdom, knowledge, tolerance, judgment, etc.; our emotions and the control of them so that you are prepared to go to a better place and can conduct yourself there. It's to say, "Do here as you would do There," otherwise they don't want you in that neighborhood.
You have to build your own structure from what you hear, see, read, etc.; from what you experience. The thing is that people are followers. You must follow those who should be followed, lead those who should be lead and drop those who should be dropped for their weight may be too much for your own. The key is when to do what? It is your judgment. You can feel the existence; learn how to use it. Normally, when something troubles you if you ask yourself, "Would I do that There," you will find your answer. Then you have to be true to your answer, to your wisdom and your judgment.

God exists because people belive in "Him". (collective dillusion) The same way that people belive in Buddah or Allah. Any "God" is the focus of individual religions. Any arguement to prove the existence of "God" is worthless, because all religion is based on faith and belief, not fact and science. Religion and faith does not need to prove itself, because it is not about knowing the right answer, it is about beliving that a higher power knows for you.
Humanity is collectively dilusional, simply because no-one can explain why we are here. Science can explain mankind's evolution, but cannot explain the reason for this existence. i.e. what started the whole process and why. Now although this is not proof of all seeing being or "god" being in control, but it does promote man to question our existence. Mankind will probably never be able to confirm or prove the reason for our existence, or the mysteries of the universe, not for lack of trying, but for lack of the ability to understand.
For example, you can never exlpain to a goldfish the world that exists outside it's pond, because it doesn't have the cognitive ability to understand language or "ideas". So the idea that a booming voice will one day be heard saying "I am God" is silly, because it is just an example of mankind hoping to understand the universe, from "our" point of view, something that we can relate to.
If we saw proof of God, would be recognise it? Religious people point to miracles and "signs" as proof of God - and to be honest, can an Atheist prove that an apparent miracle is not the work of a higher power?
We like to put our own intelligence up against others to say that they are wrong, and to win an arguement and be "right". Where as Christians "belive" that they are right. Even if you have proof of something, people will still ignore what is right in front of them, because of what they believe.
"God" is the oldest conspiracy theory and will always be the most persisent one. There is no point trying to prove or dis-prove the existence of God because there are too many belivers and not enough prove to put a decicive case either way. No matter what, people will belive what they want to.
I don't belive in God. But I can't prove that there is not a higher power in the universe.
Don't worry, all non-belivers can sleep tight in the knowledge that in a couple of decades time, western people will have gotten tired of the church and woken up to reality and very few people will actually belive in God anymore. We will be outnumbered by people who believe in Allah or Buddah instead.

Very simple.
There are two possibilities of we being here. Either we are here by Chance or we have been Created.
What are we made from? Cells. Let us now put aside the question of "how the first cell originated" and ask a much easier question: How did the first protein originate? The theory of evolution has no answer to this question either.
Proteins are made up of molecules, called "amino acids". There are 500-1,000 amino acids in an average protein. The important point is that amino acids have to line up in a certain sequence to form a protein. There are 20 different amino acid types used in living organisms. These amino acids do not combine at random to form proteins. Every protein has a certain amino acid sequence and this sequence must be precisely matched. Even the deficiency or the replacement of a single amino acid renders that protein a useless lump of molecules. For this reason, every amino acid must be just at the right place in the right sequence. The instructions for this sequence are stored in the DNA of the cell and, according to them, the proteins are produced.
The theory of evolution claims that the first proteins formed "by chance". Probabilistic calculations, however, show that this is by no means possible. For instance, the probability of the amino acid sequence of a protein made up of 500 amino acids being in the correct order is 1 in 10^950.
10^950 is an incomprehensible figure formed by placing 950 zeros after 1. In mathematics, a probability smaller than 1 over 1050 is considered to be almost impossible.
Even a single protein cannot form by chance, and there are billions of Protein in human body. and there are billions of people here in this world. Calculation would be [ 10^950 x Number of protein molecules in human body x number of people in the world ever existed ]. Can you imagine this figure. The probability that human life can form by chance is nothing but 0.
Finally, the time necessary for the molecule to form was 10^243 billion years. This was far greater than the supposed age of the universe - only about 2 billion years. It was impossible for the universe to have created itself, and for life to randomly form.
The only answer left is that there is creation, and when there is a creation , there is a CREATOR.
"Say: ‘Call upon Allah, or call upon Rahman: by whatever name ye call upon Him, (it is well): for to Him belong the Most Beautiful Names....‘"
[Al-Qur’an 17:110]
"Say: He is Allah, The One and Only. "Allah, the Eternal, Absolute.
"He begets not, nor is He begotten. And there is none like unto Him."
[Quran 112:1-4]

"For since the creation of the world, God's invisible qualities--His eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excucse." Bible Romans 1:20
Observing the creatures, we know the existence of Creator. No one can do away with this logic.
In the Beginning God created heavens and earth.
God gives you air to breathe and sunshine to enjoy.
God gives you water to drink and food to eat.
God gives you a wonderful body and sound mind, to live.
God loves you, and you are precious to Him.
Son of God died on the Cross to save us from condemnation.
Jesus’ love is boundless and everlasting.
We have the hope of Heaven through Jesus.
Life therefore has fantastic and glorious future!

I would not argue on the subject at all. We are all entitled to our own beliefs as to does God exist, there is at the end of the day one God,we may see him in a different colour or creed but surley we all (of those who do) believe that there has to be something there rather higher and better than this cruel world that we live in,I do believe in God myself, pray, but do not go to church unless I have to because of all the hypocrisy that is part of religion.

Why do you want people to pose an argument about the existence of God. If you don't believe in Him you don't believe in Him and for those that do believe in Him, then let it be. Don't try to get people to try to prove that God exists. Keep your beliefs to yourself and respect the beliefs of others.

- The Bible says god exists
- Just have faith
- Just pray
- Just believe, that's the only proof you need
- You have to discover him for yourself
- The creation
- Just look in your mirror
- Well, the world couldn't have just happened by chance. Trillions of planets exist and one has life, no, it couldn't have happen by chance.
- You're alive aren't you?
- He only speaks to you if you want to hear him
- The universe
- The complexity of the human body
- The answer is in you
- Meditate
- Just look around you
- My children
- Common sense
- Life proves he exists
- You can't disprove his existence which means he exists
- The miracles
- I almost was in a car accident and was seriously injured, it was not known at first if I would survive or not. I went to a hospital of course. The hospital workers were extremely well trained medical professionals with years of experience. The equipment they used for tests in order to help me make a full recovery was top of the line. Modern medical science truly saved my life, therefore god exists.
- God himself is proof that he exists

Without the story behind it (lengthy) I was in church and we were saying the Lord's Prayer. All of a sudden I felt strange, I could see everyone around me but verything around me was foggy as if we were in the clouds, then my body became smothered with love and I do mean love. There is nothing in this life that could ever come close to what I felt. As soon as I realized that this was the spiritual awakening that I had been asking for it was gone. God is, and always will be. He answered my prayers.
