not only was his tee shot off the tent suspect, but how about the second off the tree? and if that wasn't enough he still tried to win it from a tough position only to get the fried egg in the bunker, only to pitch it off the green. you gotta play for the tie after the second shot hits the tree as opposed to going for the green as he did. that was the phil of old in my opinion and it cost him the open and the chance to be only the third guy to win 3 strait majors.

Well Phil is my hero, and yes he will take some criticism for his last 3 holes. You know what I think, No I can't even say it. I'll just keep it to myself.but look at what Furyk and Monty did on the last hole.Ogilvy won it with an awesome chip in on 17 ,and a very nice 4th shot and putt on the 72nd hole. Let's just say Phil is a gambler in more ways than one. And if I was a betting man and I am, but have never bet big money on golf, but if I was going to bet a bundle on anybody in this championship it would have been Geoff Ogilvy.

Phil didn't blow it!!! He got totally lucky. If his shot wouldn't have hit the tent, he would have been at least 20 yards farther behind trees, and in rock solid hardpan. I wish Colin Montgomerie would have won, he's gotten ripped off so many times, along with Padraig Harrington.

Yes, Phil blew it for sure. Good to see another southern hemisphere champ after Michael Campbell from New Zealand last year.

It is possible, that some people are happy in their marriage. Why shouldn't Dr. Phil and his wife? Then, again it could be a front, for the cameras.

He's an idiot. This could ruin his career. Where was his caddy? He likes to gamble? Well, he made a good one today. Worse that he could do was tie. Then he could play against a guy who did not have that kind of experience and who was not as good as the opponent. I don't think you will see him anywere until the PGA or British Open.
