My retriever has been sick for the last 5 days, shes been wreching, and her "buisness" seems fine, she still wants to eat so I feed her rice, and other things soft on her stomach. We took her to the vet saturday, they took x-rays of her and found nothing. She has gotten much worse since saturday, shes now to the point where she can not stand up, she crawls on the floor, and needs much coaxing to move anywhere. We are taking her to the vet again tomorrow morning. We are now worried that she may have eatin a poisonous spider, or something soft, like a sock that the x-ray could not pick up. If any of you have had these symptoms with your dog please tell me what the outcome was, it will be greatly appretiated.

What were the results of the blood work ?? Any elevated values ?? She may need a barium series done if the x-rays did not show anything. Barium is a chalky liquid she will be forced to drink. They will take x-rays 15 mins. apart to watch the barium travel through her GI tract. If it stops passing that's usualy the site of the obstruction.

well how much are you feeding her first? maybe you should feed her 3 cups of food a day, or maybe it depends on the kind of food shes eating. If you've changed it in the passed few weeks maybe that could be effecting her my dog eats non stop(although she's only a puppy) but yeah i think it could be a problem with the type of food or how much your feeding her. if the food is fine then maybe bringing her to a vet E.R.

If she's bleed, or not going to the bathroom or/and if she's vomiting then you need to take her to the emerges vet!

She could just be in pain somewhere, if she continues to do this. Then you need to call your vet

Unless she just has a upset stomach, just don't feed her anything, until she feels better

Other wise keep a close eye on her

You should ask to get a blood test

Well my golden retriever used to eat T-Bones and any bone he could get his paws on...which I kinda knew was not a good thing. Well this one time after eating a t-bone he was throwing up and throwing up for days...worsening each day..and the vet said that maybe what happened is the bones splintered and tore at his intestines....and has intestinal tract infection. He went on antibiotics mixed in with white rice with hamburger....and he got better. We NEVER feed him bones now.

Oh and golden's are notorious for eating everything whether it is good or not, cell phones, medicines, glass......

Try to take care of the dog. Maybe it needs attention from you and everybody. And, maybe she has a stomach ache. Or something bothering the dog.
