Yes you can. They are delicous in fact. Just take a super sharp fillet knife and take a thin fillet off each side of the fish. Make sure to trim the hard peice from the bottom of fillet. The strips of meat are pretty small but if you have a lot of them they make a great meal. I like to roll them in egg and Itallian bread crumbs (Progresso is the best) and lightly pan fry them in butter.
The best way to fillet them is with an electric fillet knife that run about $20 at your local Wal Mart or sporting goods store. I can do a whole ice chest of Crappie and Perch in about 30 minutes. Enjoy!!!!! Take a kid fishing. That is the best way to ensure the future of this sport.

Fresh lake perch is about as good as fish eating gets. I read somewhere that in order to be adversely affected by eating Lake Michigan perch, one would have to eat 10,000 perch dinners in their lifetime. I would check with your doctor if your pregnant, but he probably wouldn't have a clue.

I would check into the water first. You can find out if that lake has any known about problem and if the fish are edible. Also- in general a few fish from a lake aren't bad- but there are limits the dnr set because of health concerns.

It depends on the lake. You should check at local bait shops or with you state Fish & Game department if the fish are safe to eat.

That would depend on which lake and what is the level of polution in that lake. I live in northern Indiana and we eat fish out of all our local lakes.

As far as fresh water goes, it depends on where you're living. But, generally all freshwater is polluted with pesticides and other things. Perch are edible though.

That wouldn't solve the invasion. That would add to it. You would have to first catch all the carp, every single one from the rivers and toss them in these ponds... impossible to do. Then, there is no stopping people from putting the carp back in the rivers. So in short, no, it would not solve it but rather worsen it.
