Learn what you can about setting up a Day Care Center in your state. From this, you can see that you are limited to the number of children that you can watch.
Let's say that you are allowed to watch three children. Let's say that you believe that you should be able to make $350 per week at this part time effort. If this is just 10 hours per day, that's 50 hours per week. At $7 per hour, that's $350 per week. You should not work for less than minimum wage. That's the law.
So take the three possible kids, and divide by three. That means that you should be earning at least $116 per week.
if the kid's mom would rather NOT work, she would probably be losing more that $116 per week. She would lose the money, but her career would go down the drain. She can't really expect you to sacrifice yourself for her career. OH, maybe Dad would quit his job to save that $116 per week.
Please do not be a victim to someone else's problem. Taking care of kids might be fun, and someday you might have your own. But if it is a job, GET PAID.
Bill Gates loves his job, but you already know that he does not work for FREE.

Ok just for the scheme of things say you were working in a childcare center. Assuming you don't have a degree you would be making 7.00 an hour. Ok you have this child nine hours a day say for five days a week which is 45 hours. The first 40 would be at regular time. So that alone is 280. Than you have five hours at time and half. That is an extra 52.50. So before taxes for one week you'd be making 332.50. Let's take the average fifteen percent. So after taxes you'd make about 285 for a week. I say those people are getting quite a discount.
Also the average person spends 5,500 a year on child care. Divide that by 52 weeks they spend about 105 a week. So they are getting a discount. If they were to go with anyone else they'd have to pay you more.

Wow, I pay $120 a week and that is pretty cheap in my area, I know lots of people that charge $150-$180 per week per child!
But that is in my area, I would recommend that you look in the paper and see what other home day care providers are charging, maybe even call a few pretending to be a parent and see what their rates are, that will give you a good idea to know if you are in the right range or not.

i babysat in my home and i charged 25.00 a day so i think 75 is a little cheap...i would ask for more...also make sure you set up a plan that if you are told that the child is going to come certain days and they dont show up or they say they arent coming last minute make sure you have them pay at least half price if they are not there...i made this mistake and i would go a whole week without pay and this was my only income...i had to say i couldnt babysit and get a job....think a lot through before doing this, sign papers and make arrangements! good luck i hope it all works out

I pay $125.00 a week for my two year son to go to daycare and my aunt watches him. She doesn't work and watches 1 other boy who is in 3rd grade. I have to bring all food, snacks, milk, juice, diapers, wipes, etc. You and selling yourself way short to watch a 3 yr old 9 hours a day. By the way my son is also at my aunts from 7:45 am to around 4:15pm.

How many days in the week? $75 for a week of babysitting is fair if it's in the persons home. If you do it in your home then you have to count food and such as an expense. If you are doing this for a parent that is providing you food and shelter then it is out of the question to put a charge on it until you pay your expenses.

even however Lil' Wayne is easily a extra unique and unusual rapper; I nonetheless think of you have understated the importance of Illmatic. sure, it wasn't so right this moment commercially possible, yet a good number of critics enjoyed it from the beginning up. i think of the source gave it 5 mics good away. Secondly, the production on Nas's album is basically undying... i won't be able to assert the comparable for Tha Carter III (however the production continues to be tight on that album). and then there is the shown fact that Illmatic is in order that finished of great stuff... there's a great sort of throw away stuff from Weezy (isn't there constantly?) besides, i do no longer think of you're loopy for thinking Tha Carter III could be extra clever, I basically needed to chime in with why i think of Illmatic is extra clever. i think of you have reported some valid arguments: Wayne is definitely extra of a character than Nas.

I'm not sure where you live - but I used to pay $150 a week - and that was considered cheap (in NY). So I would say $75 is not alot at all. Watching a 3 year is alot of work.

That is average cost. I pay $15.00 a day for my childcare for the first 9 hours. If I have to leave him longer, I pay more, just out of respect to the world's best babysitter. She is more like granny to my son and loves him as her own grandchild. Most day care centers charge 15-25 a day per child.
