i wanna ask the guy i like to go with me to see a movie... but i dont wanna "ask him out" and i dont wanna sound like im doin it either.. how should i ask?

Really, you're making it harder than it really is. If you are already friends, then he most likely won't think anything of it. If you aren't, on the other hand, then maybe you should try a more subtle approach.

Find out a movie that you both want to see. then ask him if he wants to see it with you since you both want to see it. be casual.
