Read Carl Sagan. I would suggest 'Dragons of Eden' and 'Contact', also 'Demon-Haunted World' - all Sagan's writings are excellent. He was despised by some evangelicals because he frequently challenged illogical, contradictory and detrimental ideas that form the basis of religion. Sagan's work - based on truth and common sense - could inspire you to debate any diehard who refuses to leave you alone - which is kinder than killing them.
A few Carl Sagan quotes to ponder:
"What I'm saying is, if God wanted to send us a message, and ancient writings were the only way he could think of doing it, he could have done a better job." (Contact dialogue)
"It means nothing to be open to a proposition we don't understand." (Sagan interview)
"You see, the religious people -- most of them -- really think this planet is an experiment. That's what their beliefs come down to. Some god or other is always fixing and poking, messing around with tradesmen's wives, giving tablets on mountains, commanding you to mutilate your children, telling people what words they can say and what words they can't say, making people feel guilty about enjoying themselves, and like that. Why can't the gods leave well enough alone? All this intervention speaks of incompetence. If God didn't want Lot's wife to look back, why didn't he make her obedient, so she'd do what her husband told her? Or if he hadn't made Lot such a s**thead, maybe she would've listened to him more. If God is omnipotent and omniscient, why didn't he start the universe out in the first place so it would come out the way he wants? Why's he constantly repairing and complaining? No, there's one thing the Bible makes clear: The biblical God is a sloppy manufacturer. He's not good at design, he's not good at execution. He'd be out of business if there was any competition." (Contact dialogue)
"One prominent American religion confidently predicted that the world would end in 1914. Well, 1914 has come and gone, and - while the events of that year were certainly of some importance - the world did not, at least so far as I can see, seem to have ended. There are at least three responses that an organized religion can make in the face of such a failed and fundamental prophecy. They could have said, Oh, did we say '1914'? So sorry, we meant '2014'. A slight error in calculation. Hope you weren't inconvenienced in any way. But they did not. They could have said, Well, the world would have ended, except we prayed very hard and interceded with God so He spared the Earth. But they did not. Instead, they did something much more ingenious. They announced that the world had in fact ended in 1914, and if the rest of us hadn't noticed, that was our lookout. It is astonishing in the fact of such transparent evasions that this religion has any adherents at all. But religions are tough. Either they make no contentions which are subject to disproof or they quickly redesign doctrine after disproof. The fact that religions can be so shamelessly dishonest, *so contemptuous of the intelligence of their adherents*, and still flourish does not speak very well for the tough-mindedness of the believers. But it does indicate, if a demonstration was needed, that near the core of the religious experience is something remarkably resistant to rational inquiry." (Broca's Brain)

Actually Christians are killing Muslims in this Crusade, as Bush the Second says he is doing in Afghanistan and Iraq. So called "democratization" of Iraq is just a christian hidden agenda. There were not Iraqi implicated in 9/11 but what the hey, let's have a Crusade! If it was only Christians pestering people it would be nothing, but Crusade???

understandable. They do get a bit annoying at times don't they?
In some schools, to become an ordained minister of God, these students have to spend several certain amounts of hours witnessing. I SAY WITNESSING, NOT HARRASSING.
Witnessing is speaking of God and Jesus and all the future afterlife benifits for those that will listen. Harrassment is well, harrassment. I'm sure you know what harrassment is.
What I have done in the past for a number of different sects who used to beat on my door, was nod, listen say thank you and close the door and by the third time when they came back, with no invite on my behalf, I would tell them they are harrassing me, by the legal state of the law we are living in and if they came back again, I would consider it tresspassing.
One duo came so often, I began to suspect them on a regular cycle. I think they were interested in something more than just witnessing. I ended up calling the police for being stalked which is a felonous crime in Florida, thanks to Ted Bundy.
There is no easy way to remove them from your presence. All I can say is remove yourself.

Just be glad you aren't living in times when they'd kill you for not converting. Christians that prosyletize these days are pretty harmless...annoying at the worst. I'd tell them that they couldn't convince me to believe any more than I could convert them to atheism. Or just ignore them.

Is this like in person or over the internet? Over the internet, hit delete. In person, post a sign on your door that says No Religious or No Christian solicitation - now that sounds strange coming from me because I am a Christian - but I don't like Jehovah's Witness and Mormon's coming to my door or other church groups, when I have a church I attend faithfully, so I have a sign that says "No Religious Solicitation".

Start wearing a pentacle in plain view. Join a strange UFO cult and try to convert them! Get a bunch of tattoos and piercings to frighten them off. Ask anyone who tries to convert you to have sex with you. In most instances, throwing food is not considered assault. Pour soda on them, belt them (gently) with french fries, fling mashed potatoes at them.

Just tell them that you are not interested and to please leave you alone. Don't be mean or rude or that will just make you look like you REALLY do need help, so they will just try harder. Stick strong to whatever religion you are, or, if you don't have one, tell them you enjoy not having a religion. Try to find some proof or something like, "In my religion, it is seen as a disgrace to drop out of the church because in the Bible, God said..." You know, something that sounds like you really know what you are talking about.

For one thing, it was told by Jesus Christ himself that we are "to go out into all the would and teach the gospel. He that believes and is baptized shall be saved." Listen to them and stop trying to ignore them. As a Christian, it's my job to try and help people see Christ and understand that he loves us. And have you even stopped to think once that God is sending all these Christians your way intentionally?

you can always tell them that if they dont leave you alone you will strike them down with your magic powers. but depending on who you are that might not work.
Me and my husband are Pagans and we pour salt in a line right beside the doorway on our porch and chant I protect my house from darkness only allow good in my house keep the christians and muslims out!! we have had christians come at our door ring the doorbell and leave because they dont feel comfortable coming any closer to the house.
